As Emma and Natalee rode the horse carriage to the field, Emma realized no one was awake yet.
"Stop screaming! No one is awake except for us, of course." Emma yelled. Natalee was about to cry so Emma felt bad and tucked Natalee in her arms.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I never look forward to the summer because we have to wake up at 5am every morning. That's not healthy for us. Of course, I know we have to work but why in the morning? We have the whole day to ourselves." Emma said in a calmer voice. Natalee finally understood why her sister was always in a grumpy mood.
"Should I tell Mama or not?" Natalee asked Emma. Emma just looked at her. Finally, they arrived and the horses in control of the carriage, were trained to wait for them. So they did. The 2 sisters got off the carriage like princesses and ran down the rocky path.
"When we got off the carriage, didn't you feel like princesses?" Natalee asked. Emma nodded. As the corn was waiting to be picked, something glimmered in Emma's eye.
