Parallel realities

We live in a world where there is a permanent war between what we are and what we want to be. We all have one or more parallel realities living within our reality in each there is a part of us, a "parallel I", which we may not know about or we want to ignore it. These parallel realities have a rule: they don't cross with our day to day reality, but there are exceptions.
Imagine if one day you woke up with a tattoo in any part of your body that you had 100% sure that you haven't done it. Imagine now that you're awake and you look at your arm because you feel a itch and what you see is a new tattoo appearing. This new tattoo says: "Hello Jane". And that's your first name.

So I'm kinda new around here.
This idea of the story came up in a dream and I'm trying to keep up with it.
