Firstly, I’d just like to say thanks to those of you who entered the drabble contest from the last issue. We hit double figures in entries which was grand and we had some wonderful entries both from some of the Wattpad stalwarts and from some of the newer members, all of which I have to say were of a high standard and made the judging very difficult.
Kudos though to GenXBlogger for her winning drabble, but she was given a damn close run by AngusEcrivain, Fauxpunker and Frakkevin. Also I was particularly impressed with entries by sleepyjaime, KingLeonidas, MargaretPinskiy, KingBritain, Dreamingthought and ChristopherMarrow. Damn good effort folks, and please do enter again this issue, I’d love to see more from you.

Finders Keepers by GenXblogger
The cat did not have a head. Its body was stiff, lifeless for some time now. It did not look familiar, not a neighbor’s cat, this time, thank God. With a long stick, Sarah moved the cat’s body aside. Underneath the corpse there was a crude hand drawn picture, a female stick figure with x’s where eyes should be and a knife plunged into its chest. Red crayon covered the page. Sarah cringed as she boxed up the items for burial. Later she would confront her son’s emotionless eyes; but now, there was work to be done, secrets to bury.
On Next Month's Competition:
Right then, next challenge. Now that you’ve stretched your drabble wings, I’d like you to give a micro short a go. The rules are similar to before :
1. All entries should be sent by Private Message to TheOrangutan.
2. The text should be less than 500 words.
3. Theme – Horror, but no gore porn please. Elements of humour, scifi etc are fine.
4. The author retains copyright, but by entering gives permission for their story to be posted in the next issue of the magazine if they win.
5. Judging will be by the magazine staff and their decision is final.
6. Winners will have their story posted in the next issue and receive glances of admiration and serious kudos from all readers of the magazine.
7. Story must start with the line “The light changed to monochrome as the sun dipped below the horizon. Signs of movement were noticed…”
8. You carry on from the dots however you like, but must include this line somewhere in the body of the story “…revelling in the spilled blood, we blunted our weapons on the unending horde that attacked us...”
9. Finish it how you like, but no more than 500 words please. You can do it in 50 if you like =]
10. All entries to be in by 25th March please. Thanks.
