you come home from a long day at work on a cold saturday evening.
you are really tired and just want to take a shower, call your boyfriend, Devin, and fall asleep.
as you walk into your house and set your keys and purse on the table, you see rose petals leading upstairs.
no one was home for the week, so Devin had thought that it was the perfect time to surprise you.
after you do a little dance internally, you start heading upstairs at a quick pace.
As you take the last steps up the stair well, you see candles lit in your room.
As you walk in, you see Dev patiently waiting for you with ice cream and a huge selection of movies for you two to watch. he also has something in his pocket, but you can't tell what it is.
you run up to him and he catches you in his arms.
"y/n, I know that you have had a rough week and I wanted to do something special for my babygirl." Dev says, smiling at you.
You feel so happy and warm inside, you can't help but jump up and kiss him. you get on the bed and make yourself comfortable as Devin puts in the movie Elf since Christmas is right around the corner. He the sits next to you and you both get comfortable.
After a few minutes into the movie, he reaches into his pocket, the one that had some object that you couldn't clearly see earlier, and takes out a tiny box.
"y/n, you are my absolute favorite person in the world. I love you so much and I never want to and never will leave you. Therefore, I give you this promise ring. I'll never let you go babe." said Devin.
You feel like your heart just burst. You hug him so tight, he can't breath.
"I love you too, babe! I promise to wear this everyday for forever."
You and Dev both go back to the movie and laugh hysterically until you both soon drift off into a deep sleep. 💤
