Chapter Eight

On the way to the party, I couldn’t help but think what it would be like when we got there. I’ve watched quite a bit of high school movies and if this party is going to be anything like those movies then I have a feeling that I am not going to like this. Soon we arrived at Jordan’s house, the blaring music could be heard from down the street. We parked opposite the house and we both got out of the car. This is it, I guess.  Natasha led the way with me right behind her. When we got to the front door, I lifted my arm up about to knock but it was grabbed by a hand. “What are you doing?”

I got asked by Natasha. “Um, well I was about to Knock but someone people stopped me” I answered sarcastically. “You really are new to this aren’t you? You don’t knock Madison, you just walk in” “That’s a bit rude” I replied, while thinking. “But okay, let’s go”

We walked in and the smell of alcohol and sex hit me. I glanced around to see boys dancing while the girls are grinding on them; this was the definition of dirty dancing alright. This might be fun; it’s going to give me a chance to have some fun.

“Hey hey Tash” yelled a guy strolling up to us. He looked pretty good; he had blond hair and blue eyes.  He didn’t exactly look like the fittest guy in the room, but that didn’t really matter. “Don’t even think about it Jack, you’re drunk. Go home” Natasha ordered him. “Think about what?” he looked slightly confused. “Just go” and just like that, Jack left. “Wanna explain?” I asked her, hey, I was curious. “Not tonight, we are here to have fun and only fun. So have fun” she grinned and she was gone. I think she over-used the word ‘fun’.

I glanced around to see if I knew anyone here, but then I realised that of course I wouldn’t. I turned to Natasha, but she was nowhere to be seen.  Wait, she’s gone?  She just left me here, all alone, with no one and no idea what to do. Oh boy tonight is going to be interesting.

Oh well, may as well get a drink. I turned around and headed to what I think is the kitchen. Only a few people were in there, I think others were busy doing...other stuff. “New girl right?” I heard a voice ask from behind me. “I do have a name, you know?”  “Yeah but no one knows it, so I decided I would have to ask you yourself” as I turned around I was met by a guy a few centimetres taller than me. His light brown hair fell in front of his gray, mysterious eyes. “Um...it’s uh” since when do I not know my own name?! “Uh, mad-Madison” I replied finally. “Congrats, you know your own name, took you a while though” he answered, chuckling at me. “Shut up. What’s your name anyway?” “It’s Ethan. So do you want a drink Madison?” he suggested. “Sure, why not? I am here to have ‘fun’ anyway, even though pretty much my only friend here ditched me. Actually I should probably go find her, I think I will feel better around someone I know”  “Do you always talk this much or is it just that I make you nervous?” he tilted his head at me. “It’s not just you!” I denied, just a bit too fast. Oh boy, what is going on with me? “Hey, I’m one of the good guys here, so calm down” he tried to reassure me. “That’s what all guys say before they murder the girl” I said, looking him straight in the eyes. He burst out laughing at me, yup that’s right, he was laughing at me. I frowned at him. “I’m not going to murder you Madison. So how about that drink now? Sounds like you need it and soon” he smirked.

“Beer or Vodka?” Ethan questioned me while holding up a bottle in each hand. “Vodka” I replied, confidently. “Really?” his eyebrow went up at me. “What’s that meant to mean?” I demanded. “Nothing” he blurted quickly. “Actually, make that three Vodka shots please” I decided. “Now you’re talking!” he cried.

Who says good girls can’t have Vodka every once in a while. Actually, before tonight, I would’ve never even considered having anything to drink at all but tonight, I was going to drink whatever I wanted, I had nothing to lose after all. Ethan glanced at me like he was uncertain about something.  He placed the shots in front of me.
