on the past half hour hyejin and yoongi had come much closer and was now on a conversation about their favourite subject in school.
"i like music, of course, and then i like english, because i'm good at it," hyejin said while she ate up her cold noodles from her bowl. yoongi nodded and smiled.
"what about you?" hyejin asked. "what were your favorite subjects?"
"mhm..i don't remember so much actually, considering that it's a long time since," he said while he also ate up.
hyejin looked a little bit surprised at him. how old was he, was the question that was running through her head. he didn't seem old.
"excuse me for asking, but how old are you?" she asked curiously. "26," he said and locked her eyes with his.
he could clearly see her reaction that she was surprised. he knew too well that she was only 17 but that was the thing that made this so fun.
it became awkward, so yoongi tried to be professional again, by getting on his feet. "shall we start again?"
26 was on repeat in hyejin's head when she was eating dinner with her mother later that evening in her own apartment.
she couldn't understand why yoongi's age bothered her so much, but she felt kind of intimidated by it.
"is there anything wrong, hyejin?" her mom asked her. hyejin looked at her and shook her head. "it's nothing,"
"you and jungkook are so cute together," sora said when they were sitting on the bleachers looking at the boys playing soccer days on friday afternoon.
jungkook was one of them, and when he found hyejin among the many girls at the bleachers he waved to her and she waved back.
the past days hyejin had helped jungkook with his english at school when she had the time, often when they had lunch. they often talked about other things when she helped him.
when the boys were done with playing the girls disappeared leaving only sora, yoojung and hyejin at the bleachers.
suddenly jungkook was headed towards them. "hi," he mumbled and smiled to them when he arrived.
hyejin smiled back. she turned around when she suddenly realized yoojung and sora on their feets. they looked awkwardly from hyejin to jungkook.
"we're just going to go for a walk," they said and almost ran away. hyejin made a mental note in her head to scold them later for this
jungkook sat down beside her. she looked at him. "what's up?" she asked him.
he seemed nervous in a kind of way. "i have something to show you," he said. he opened his backpack and dragged out a paper of it.
he lended it to hyejin. she took it. there was an test, the same test she had took only here it wasn't the score 95 out of 100 but 70.
"this is really good, jungkook," she said and smiled. she was very proud of him indeed. she looked at him. he seemed very proud and happy of himself.
"i couldn't make it without you, you know," he said. hyejin just looked at him. "thank you." he said.
she looked again at the test to see what they had to work at. "i was wondering if we could do anything to celebrate that i did well?" jungkook suddenly asked.
she looked at him, it seemes like he was asking her on a date. "jungkook..-" she began before she became interrupted.
"i know you what you're thinking, but it is not like that, you know that," he said.
hyejin thought about it for a minute before she nodded her head. "okay, you deserve it," she said.
jungkook smiled. "shall we say next tuesday then?" he said. she couldn't that day because yoongi's piano lesson was at that day.
she shook her head. "i can't that day, i'm planning to hang with sora and yoojung that day," she lied.
"okay, i was actually doing something else on sunday, but is that day alright?" he asked.
hyejin nodded.
