Novalee's pov:

  "Novalee come on we have to go to school we're riding with the Rowland's!" My twin brother Jacob yelled.

  "Hold on!" I said taking one last look in my long mirror checking my outfit and hair making sure I looked my best.

  "Okay ready" I said smiling at Jacob motioning him to open the front door as we got into the Rowland's car that had been parked waiting on us.

  "Let me guess it was Novalee this time?" Hunter said in a rude tone.

  "Hunter you can't be mad at me for that long!" I said scrunching my nose as I made a face at him. He rolled his eyes and turned back around in the passenger seat.

  At the end of summer I got a boyfriend and Hunter didn't approve of him but I still continued dating him and now he won't even talk to me or come over unless it's for Jacob so I'm mostly with Brandon now.

  "I'm so nervous" I said smiling at Brandon seeing the school in the distance. We came to a stop and I grabbed Brandon's hand jumping out of the car.

  "Have a wonderful day my babies stay out of trouble" Christine said smiling at us and waving. Christine was like another mother to me and she's always there for my mom and us.

  "Ariana!!" I screamed running to her. We're neighbors but I really do miss her sometimes since the only sport I do is field hockey and at the moment she has dance which takes a lot of her time up.

  "I can't wait for try outs, I wish I could've car pooled with you guys but my mom insisted on seeing me the first day" She said rolling her eyes giving us all a laugh.

  "I'm so scared what if I fall and humiliate myself or what if I don't impress them?" I said getting nervous. Tonight were Field Hockey try outs and I didn't know why but I was more nervous than ever.

  "Novalee there's Joseph over there" Ariana said nudging me. She winked and pushed me.

  "Hi babe" Joseph said as he hugged me and pecked my lips. I smiled at him and we walked over to my group.

  As soon as we walked over Hunter got up and rolled his eyes leaving us all. We all looked at each other in confusion.

  "I think someone's jealous" Joseph said smirking at me.

  "He can be jealous forever then I guess" I said smirking back at him.

  We got our schedules and we all went to our classes. I had every class with Ariana and Joseph and I had three classes together.

  "Ariana I really don't know what to do about Hunter" I said slightly frowning.

  "Hey don't worry about him this is the first day of school don't let him ruin what you and Joey have!" She said smiling to cheer me up.

   "Thanks Ariana now we have to get you Cameron" I said winking at her. She hit my arm and started to blush. I just laughed and we made our way to first period.

  "Look who's here" I said nudging Ariana as we see Cameron staring her up and down as soon as our bodies came into the room.

  "Omg stop" She said blushing still making eye contact with him.

  "Okay kids pick your seats and I will see if any changes need to be made through the year" Our history teachers says as he gets his things organized waiting for the rest of the class to show up.

  The tables were set up in fours so I grabbed Ariana's arm and rushed over to Cameron's table sitting down.

  "Oh hey Ariana" Cameron said blushing blood red.

   "H-hi" Ariana said blushing just as much as Cameron.

  "Oh my this is going to take a lot of work" I say looking at them both causing us all to laugh.

  Class was about to start when one person I didn't want to see really at the moment walked in, Hunter. I loved him and he was my best friend but he was being such a jerk lately.

  "One seat left Mr.Rowland it's beside Novalee." Mr.Mines said putting to the empty seat beside me.

  "Oh my god" He said rolling his eyes and sitting down in the empty seat.

  I was so upset with the way hunter and I have been and I'm sick and tired of thinking I did something wrong.

Novalee: Come over now it's important.
Hunter: Whatever fine.

  I went to the bathroom to clean myself up. I cleaned my room and opened my door so he could come in. He had a key to my house and he knows to come right to my room.

  A few minutes later Hunter walked in looking like a mess.

  "Hunter I want to-" He grabbed my face and our lips connected. He let go and we just looked each other in the eyes.

   "I like you Novalee I have since we became friends years ago. When you, Ariana and I would have play dates. I'm jealous that you get to hold hands, kiss and hug another guy. I was afraid of being replaced after all this time." He said tears staining his cheeks.

  "Hunter I-I" I couldn't speak so much had just happened.

  "You don't like me I understand I think this talk was needed because now I understand what feelings we have" He said taking one last look before almost making it out of my door.

  I chased him and used all the force I had to turn him my way kissing his lips once again.

  "I hope that answers what feelings we both have" I said biting my lip as I waited for an answer. I looked down as he just started me up and down.

  "Novalee you have Joey don't risk your relationship for my feelings" He said turning back around leaving out of the door. This time I didn't stop him.
