I had finally left my room after locking myself in for almost a week, just to replenish my dwindling snack supply, stupidly assuming that Father had gone to work, Susan to wherever the hell she goes daily, and Bennett to school. Of course though, my living room is filled to the brim with family and this pretentious douchebag who I find is called Dr. Dennis Harmond, a very respected doctor according to Susan.
Of course, all hopes of sneaking back to my room are dashed into the sun when Susan decided she had to squeal like the pig she is and alert everyone, "Oh my lord she's out! She's finally back out!"
Immediately contrasting her shrill voice came Dr. Harmond, "Jennifer, please take a seat."
"I'd rather not," came my reply, as I leaned against the wall, "What do you want?'
"We just want to talk to you Jenn," that was Father. And cue the horribly stifled sobs from Susan.
"We just want to help. Please sit down Jenn," repeated Dr. Harmond.
"First off, my name is Jennifer to you, and secondly, don't tell me to sit down in my own house."
He bent his head down writing something in the little notebook that apparently all smart people have. Maybe I need a notebook...
"Okay, Jennifer. Would you like to get started? I assume you know what this is."
"An intervention? Because I'm crazy? Because "She's finally out?"" I assumed, glaring at Susan for the last bit.
"Jenn c'mon we know you're not crazy!!" Father cut in.
"Oh face it why else would you all be ganging up on me?" I countered, "She's really lost it!" throwing the sarcasm in their faces.
Susan crooned in her sickly sweet voice, "Jenny baby we're not ganging up on yo-"
"Oh shut up Susan. Go back to crying." I spat at her.
Letting out a perfectly disgusting sob and leaning into Father, "Why is she so mean to me? I just want to help." Susan cried into his shirt.
"Jenn we haven't seen you out of your room for a month! We're getting worried!" Father pleaded as he stroked Susan's hair.
"Well maybe, just maybe, there was a reason I stayed in my room? Hmm, I don't know!"
Dr. Harmond cut in, "Jennifer please there's no reason to be hostile. That's actually the precise reason why we're here! If you would help us understand-"
I scoffed at his act, "I'm sorry. I'm not some middle aged rich lady with too many chihuahuas and children that don't love me. I'm not going to bitch about my problems to some stranger who's paid to care about me. Thanks, but no thanks." I turn on my heel to go back to my lovely retreat.
"Jenn! There is no need to talk like that! You need to deal with your problem, and the only way to do that is to come to terms with what happened."
