-Anthony’s POV-
While Toby lowered himself down the cliff, the rest of us stood and watched, hoping he would make it down safely. The spray from the crashing waves covered him soon and we lost sight of him.
“Toby! Are you okay?” Shane called down to him.
There wasn’t an immediate response, but soon enough, we heard a faint, “Yeah!”
“Okay,” Shane said, turning around to us, “The rest of us need to go down. And the water seems to be rising, so we’ve got to move quick. Alright?” We all nodded our heads in understanding. “Let’s go then.”
We all got down safely and went into the dark cave, where the entrance was closed shut, making it almost impossible to see anything. Just then, lights turned on to reveal Kalel and no one else. Her hair was messed and up and her clothes were all torn up.
“K...Kalel?” I croaked.
She ran towards me and pulled me into a hug, sobbing into my shoulder, “Oh, Anthony, I’ve been stuck in this game for so long! I’m so happy you found me!”
“Uh…” I gently pushed her off of me and looked into her watery and red eyes, “Kalel, I’m glad I found you, but...I’m really trying to find Rachael. And the rest of the guys who seem to have gone missing as well…” I started looking around me.
She crossed her arms over her chest, “I want to ask you something. Do you...like her? Like more than coworkers?”
“What?” I asked, shocked she would be asking me this, “No…why does it matter anyways?”
She slightly smirked, “Well, it’s a shame you couldn’t tell her you liked her when she was alive.”
My eyes widened, “She’s dead?”
“Well she will be…” She told me. I raised my eyebrow in confusion, “I mean, one of the levels contained a war battle zone. She and I were trying to cross to the other side of the field, when one of the soldiers on the opposite side pulled out a machine gun.” She paused. “More and more soldiers kept coming and the next I know, Rachael’s not by my side anymore. And...and I saw her being taken away by them. I’m sure she’s at risk of being killed any minute.”
“Well let’s go get her!” I exclaimed.
“I don’t know how to get out of here…” She told me, “I was hoping maybe you would.”
“Well I don’t,” I answered, observing my surroundings once again. I looked behind Kalel and saw a section of the wall open. “Wait…” I walked past her and up to the wall, pulling open the door-sized piece of wall to reveal an even darker room, with Rachael sitting in the center of the room with her wrists and ankles tied to a chair. Her head was tilted forward and her eyes were closed.
“Oh my god!” I exclaimed, “Rach-” Just then, I felt something hit the back of my head with such force that I fell forward on the floor. I struggled to look up to see Rachael awake, starting to scream my name as I got hit in the head again, causing me to black out.
**Joey’s POV**
“How the hell are we supposed to get out of this place?” Shane proclaimed.
“We just need to stay together. Don’t touch anything, and everyone stay focused,” I demanded.
Dan blurted out, “Anthony’s gone!”
“What the fuck do you mean he’s gone!” Shane yelled back.
“Like I said, gone,” He reiterated.
