Life sucks. Why couldn't you be thin? You envied your boyfriend, Newt, for how thin he was. Most would describe him as tall and lanky, which seemed like a blessing to you. You would stare at yourself in the mirror for hours, hoping and wishing that one day you would be thinner. And everyday, you were disappointed.
You were laying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, when something inside you sparked. You stood up, striding toward the full length mirror hung on the wall. You lifted the hem of your shirt, disappointed to see that you were still the same. You let go of your shirt, allowing it to fall and conceal your shame. Sucking in a deep breath, tears rolled down your face. Before you knew it, you were sobbing.
In your emotional state, you failed to notice Newt peaking from behind the door. Only when you heard a sniffle, that you were certain wasn't yours, did you turn toward him. Newt walked toward you, his arms outstretched, hands shaking from his own tears. He enveloped you in a hug. "Y/N, why do you hate yourself? You're beautiful." His voice was hushed, unable to raise from the strain on his throat the tears produced. "Newt..." You looked into his glossy eyes, wiping the tears from his face. "L-look at me, my body is hideous. I don't see why you love me."
You lifted hem of your shirt, Newt smiling at you. "Do you know what I see?" He poked your stomach, giggling. "I see the same stomach that the Niffler has, an adorable squishy one. The only difference is that you don't steal and hide things in a pouch, Y/N."
You dropped your shirt, turning to face Newt. "You're making me want to see the Niffler." You grinned and pressed your face into his chest. Newt tilted your chin up and kissed you. "Well, let's go then."

As someone who is autoflagellant, I can say that it is hard to love yourself. All you have to remember is that I love you, and apparently Newt loves you too. 💛
