Last Song Syndrome

Part 1

It was the last week of work for the year. They were shooting in Manila Ocean Park today. Instead of being sluggish, he was feeling very childlike and excited despite the early call time. The scenes are a bit light today after the breakdown scene in the chapel the other week. This is refreshing.

Being so busy with work and also the fact that he cant go anywhere with a lot of people these days, he has never been to Manila Ocean Park ever.

He enjoys these kinds of shoots, he gets to enjoy the park's amenities like a regular person. Like when they shot in Sky Ranch for CloseUp or in Star City for DNP.

"James, ready na daw sabi ni Direk." Their gofer, Lilet told him.

He looked up from his script and started to follow Lilet. "Thanks, is Nadine already there?"

"Oo, sumunod na siya sa aquarium after ng previous setup niya." Lilet answered as they walked towards the big aquarium complex.

"Great."

"Pasok ka diyan, James, andun sila dulo, kailangan ko pa kasi bumili ng supplies for the next location sa grocery." Lilet pointed a small corner. "You know, drink Milo everyday." She sang the last part.

James chuckled, thinking she was just teasing him about his TVC jingle. He has been getting feedback that the video on youtube has been getting a lot hits. Which was great, he enjoyed working with Thyro on that one.

He saw the lights at the end of the path Lilet pointed, setup was almost done, since he can see Nadine already in place for their next scene together.

"Hi, Love."

"Hey!" His girlfriend was smiling brightly at him, a little to brightly? He shooked his head, its the lights.

"Its looking like its just quick shoot here. We might finish early. I'm thinking pizza for dinner, what do you think?" James smiled at Nadine.

"Yes!! I want the pizza we had the last time. Yung maraming cheese."

He was about to answer but direk Tonet was already walking towards them with a small girl, clearly about to give instructions. He looked at Nadine who was also looking at Direk Tonet, "Direk, last shot na dito right?"

Direk Tonet smiled at her two lead stars, "Yes last na, but we need a shot of everyone sa may janitor fish. No script, just blocking shots lang."

"Oooh! I always wanted to try that." Nadine said excitedly.

"Anyway, this is Rhiza, she will play the small kid na nawawala, Iris will notice her first, Basti carry mo siya, walk a little, kukunin ng parents, pak. Then you guys will face the aquarium, then lets try 1 whole shot ha, diretso." Direk was moving her hands as she instructs her actors on how to execute the scene.

"Rhiza, iha. Si Kuya James, bubuhatin ka ha. Tapos yung pag sabi mo ng lines mo sa umpisa dapat may energy ha. Sabi ni kuya James diba, beat energy gap. Nag Milo ka ba?"

Nadine was laughing quietly as they both listened to Tonet talk to the little girl. James was smiling shyly, first it was Lilet, now his director was mentioning the Milo jingle.

Must be LSS.

"Okay na guys, lets try one take." Tonet took her place at the small group of monitors. "Guys, beat energy gap ha. Energize!" The cameramen were laughing. "Rolling, action!"
