Back to Sophia's POV from now on. Taking place directly after the Temporary Goodbye chapter!

When I got home I went directly to my bedroom and locked the door. I dropped my backpack on my bed before stripping off my clothes for a hot bath. Stepping into my bathroom, I put on some music and turned the water on. 'I need a bath bomb today for sure.' My favorite bath bomb to use whenever I needed to relax was the honey scented "Shoot for the Stars" but when I reached for one I realized I was out. With a sigh I grabbed a "Big Blue" and dropped it in.

I turned off the water and let myself sink chest deep. With no intention of leaving the bathtub any time soon, I closed my eyes and started drifting off.

"Sophia!" I woke with a start at the sound of my mom calling my name from downstairs. "Come eat dinner!"

'Jeez, I didn't mean to get that relaxed.'

I climbed out of the tub, dried off, and turned off the music. I walked into my bedroom and found my favorite pair of sweatpants and an old band tshirt from a John Mayer concert. After tossing my hair up into a messy bun I skipped downstairs, excited to eat something that wasn't from the school's cafeteria.

Nothing exciting happened during dinner. My younger brother talked about his first day of eighth grade and how his crush was in his home room. When my parents asked about my first day of senior year I gave them the usual answer- something along the lines of "Yeah, it was alright." 'You guys have no idea.'

When dinner was over, I immediately went to bed. I dreamt of Mrs. Walsh. In my dream, she told her husband that she was a lesbian and he completely lost it. He threw things at her and called her awful names and I saw her sobbing uncontrollably. I wanted to reach out to comfort her, to save her, but I couldn't move. I tried to call out to her but my voice wouldn't work. Just as he lunged at her, I jerked awake with my heart racing. I took a moment to calm myself and gather my surroundings.

"It was just a dream. It's okay. She's okay," I had to talk to myself aloud to be reassured that all was well. I glanced at my phone to check the time, thinking it was still the middle of the night. 5:57 AM Three minutes before my alarm was set to go off.

I sighed and got out of bed to get ready for the day. At first I threw on a simple tshirt and jeans but at the last second I changed my mind. I would stay away from Mrs. Walsh, but I'd make sure she couldn't stay away from me. Digging through my closet furiously, I found just what I was looking for.

------

"Holy shit, Sophia!" Heather ran up to me with her mouth gaping open. "You look hot!"

"Thanks, that's what I was going for," I giggled and hugged her.

Jackson walked in through the front doors of the school and looked twice as shocked as Heather. We both stood there laughing while Jackson took in my revealing blue dress and nude heels. After a few seconds he shook his head and a slight blush crept over his cheeks. "Soph... I... wow!"

I punched him on the shoulder, "Close your mouth before you catch a fly, dude!" I then pulled him into a hug, "Thanks though, Jackson. I'll take this all as a compliment."

Just then the bell rang signaling the start of the day. "See you both in history!" Heather ran off to her first class of the day, which was AP English. I waved at both her and Jackson as I walked off toward art. All through the hallways I could see people staring at me and whispering to their friends. 'I think I chose just the right outfit' I smirked and walked more confidently.
