Meeting Felix

Today was my first day of college and I was getting settled in my dorm room. Finally the last package was dropped outside my door, I picked carefully and brought it inside the room, I kicked the door shut. I put the box down and sat on my bed. I pulled my phone out from my pocket and went through my notifications.

It was only 3 P.M. so I decided to go walk around. Since my dorm was at the end of the hall the only way I could go was left. I pushed through the doors at the end of the hall and walked outside. Today was really hot and sunny out.

"Hey, Sean, right?" I heard a voice to my left.

"Yeah, you can call me Jack."

"Cool, names Felix, I was behind you at the reception desk."

I laughed lightly knowing now that this wasn't some random guy who had just randomly known my name.
"Nice to meet you Felix."

"You too Jack."

We walked and sat down at one of the benches in the circle. "I like the hair."

"Oh, Thanks, I need to get it redone. It's a mess."

"Do you know Mark Fischbach?" He asked.

"Nope."

"He's the one with bright red hair. You'll see him around he's a pretty good baseball player."

"Okay I'll look out for him."

"I'm starving wanna get a bite to eat?" Felix asked.

"Yeah sure where to?" I was really hungry too. All I had eaten today was a piece of toast.

"Um.... Taco Bell sound good?"

"Yeah sure, I'll eat anything right now." I said slightly laughing.

We got up from the bench and started walking over to the street. On the way there Felix and I talked a lot and got to know each other a little bit better. I thought about that Mark guy for a bit to, curiouse to get to know him.

"So, why Jack?" Felix said turning to me.

"Oh, you mean the name?"

"Yeah at the reception desk you said it was Sean."

" It is, I just go by Jack. It's a childhood name, it just kinda stuck I guess.

Felix nodded his head and stuck his bottom lip out just a bit as a sign that he understood.

We got into the building and ordered our food. All I got was three soft tacos. Paying for college almost had me broke. Me and Felix started talking again for a while. I'm pretty sure we're going to be good friends. He practically had me dying in Taco Bell, When he spilled some of his drink on his shirt he started mumbling what sounded like gibberish, but later confirmed that it was Swedish for "Fuck sake, you pussy." I thought it was hilarious.

Once we were both done eating we made our way back to campus.

"So you got a girlfriend?" Felix asked.

"Ahhh, not anymore it was long distance and it just wasn't working out."

"Oh that sucks man, I'm sorry. Im in a long distance relationship but I love her to death. We separated when we went to two different colleges."

"Sorry about that man, I wish the best for you both." I said giving him a warm smile.

"Thanks, I gotta go finish unpacking. I'll talk to you later bro."

"See ya later Felix." I said as he jogged away.

I sat down at the same bench me and Felix we at earlier. A couple of boys were outside throwing around a baseball. I noticed one of them had bright red hair. That must have been the guy Felix was talking about. Mark. He was really tall and handsome. He had really buffed out arms as well. No wonder he plays baseball.

I realized I had been staring when he looked over at me. I quickly looked away, I could feel my face heating up from the embarrassment. I brushed it off and pulled out my phone and just scrolled through Twitter. It was about 6 P.M. so I decided to go back to my dorm. I looked up and the guys from earlier had already left.

I shut the door behind me and locked it. I looked around the room and still had a few boxes to unpack, but I could do that tomorrow. I was still really tired from the long ride here and hours of bringing in boxes in 90° weather.

I picked up my phone and saw I had a text from Felix.

F- "Hey when's your lunch?"

I didn't know yet so I walked over and picked up my scedual from off my desk and scanned through it. My lunch was at 1:00 P.M.

J-  "1:00 P.M."
F- "Cool we have the same lunch. Look out for me tomorrow when you get to the cafeteria, I have a few people I want you to meet."
J- " Okay, sounds cool."

Felix didn't reply to my last text, which I assume was because he fell asleep. I stretched out and yawned. I thought that I should probably get some rest too because tomorrow was my first day of classes.

I pulled all of my clothes off and I was left in my underwear. I crawled under the sheets and set my alarm for 7 A.M.
About 20 minutes later I was asleep.
