When We Were Younger

Chloe's POV

Flashback:

"Liam stop!" I yell at him while giggling.

"I'm the tickle monster you can't tell me what to do." Liam sassily replies. Such a sassy mouth for a five year old.

"I'm gonna tell Aunty Paulette."Aunty Paulette was our nanny, but she's practically family.

"Have you forgotten that she works for my parents, so she'll take my side."Liam argued.

"You're a meanie poo." I implied. At least he stopped tickling me.

"Chloe honey, your parents are home. You may go back home now." Aunty Paulette told me as my best friend helped me up.

"I'll walk her home." Liam stuttered."For saftey reasons."

"I live next door. I'm not gonna die on the way home."

"You never know." Liam replied.

"Fine." As we walked down the sidewalk and up to my front porch there was a scream.

"MOMMY? DADDY? ARE YOU IN THERE?" I yelled throught the front door. As I grab the handle to the door, Liam pulls mr back. "I have to get in there Liam. My mommy and daddy could be hurt."

"I think we should get Aunty Paulette." So thats what we did. We ran next door to Liam's house screaming 'Aunty Paulette, Aunty Paulette!' as we ran.

"What's wrong dear?" She asked.

"Somethings wrong in my house, I heard screaming." My voice shaky as I try and talk. The tears are streaming down my face.

"Get in the house. Now."She commanded.We stumbled up to the front door of Liam's house as Aunty Paulette walked wearily to my house. A few minutes later we heard police sirens and Firetrucks. Liam couldn't stop me from running outside.

"Aunty Paulette what happened?" My five year old voice cracking.

"Sweety, your mommy is in heaven and your daddy has gone missing." She said in the most earth shattering way. Trying to make a five year old understand that their mother has died and their father has gone missing is harder than it looks. That's the year my life changed dramatically.

End of flashback

"Shhhh. X-Factor's on!" Danielle squealed.

"Yeah I can see that." Sometimes I think sarcasm is Maddie's best friend rather than Danielle and I.

"Yeah I can see that." Danielle says in a mocking tone.

"Are you mocking me?"Maddie asks, although she alreadys knows the answer.

"Guys. Just shutup and watch."I'm seriously getting tired of them bickering back and forth.

"Sorry"They both mumble.

"Performing live on the X-Factor One Direction!" Mario Lopez's voice booms from the tv speakers.

"Wooooooo!" We scream. They've been our boys since pre-k. We used to be this giant group of friends until they went off to audition for the x-factor 3 years ago. Now they're the biggest band on earth. And what are we?The forgotten best friends.
