Summer vacation fun

My name is Rhiannon and i live in Australia. Australia is where i met my best friend Summer in 1st grade and we've been best friends ever since.

Today we are in grade 10. So we have been friends for a long time now. We usually call ourselves sisters because were that close.

anyway, so today is our last day of grade 10. We were so excited for this day because summer time is finally here. we've been waiting for this summer vacation ever since January when our parents told us we were going on a three week vacation in two different places of our choice. Summer chose London, England. while i chose California!

Summer will be staying at my place for two nights until we leave for our flight. its just easier so we don't miss our flight. Summer and i stayed up late packing for the trip, it was a hard thing to do because London rains a lot while California is all warm and sunny. But we ended up packing just fine.

its now the night before our flight. We're just talking about life like we usually do but this time the conversation was actually exciting. but we decided to go to sleep a little early so we wont be tired for tomorrow.

by morning we woke up fairly early and got dressed and packed those little extra things we needed in our backpacks. We went down stairs to make something to eat, we looked through my kitchen and made some pop tarts, not the weird pop tarts.. the ones with frosting!

anyway i asked my dad if he could help pack our bags into the truck. about an hour later my parents drove us to the airport. it only took around forty minutes to arrive at the airport. our flight was in an hour but first before we can sit and wait in the area we had to go through a metal scanner. Summer seemed some what nervous and i don't know why, maybe was it because it was her first time flying? i'm not sure. i took out everything that had metal, my earings, bracelets, my phone basically everything like that. then i walked through and the security guard let me grab my bags and pass. Now it was Summer's turn.

she also took off anything that was metal and when she walked through, a loud beep almost an alarm sound went off and the security guard came and checked her to see if she had anything.
