The servants stood in Ciel's office, waiting for him to speak. "S-so, what did you want to speak with us about?"Mey-Rin asked nervously.
"I have a job I want you to do."
"J"
"O"
"B?!" They cheered and let out a sigh of relief.
"When he called us here, I was so sure we were fired, yes!" Ciel took out a camera.
"This is a camera said to have been in the famous Talbot's collection. It's got a story to it. It was missing for some time but I heard it was coming up at an auction and went to great pains to get it."
"Talbot?" Tanaka then went back to his original size.
"William Henry Fox Talbot. He was an english scientist and one of the inventors of photographic technology. There were queer rumors about the last camera he used. Legend has it when you photograph someone with this camera, whomever he thinks of most fondly will appearing the picture...perhaps."
"Whomever he thinks of most fondly?! Can such camera really exist?" Tanaka deflated.
"Shall we take a shot to test it out? Don't move. Exposure takes 10 seconds."Ciel told Finni. He froze, holding his breathe.
"What's exposure?"Mey-Rin asked.
"To put it plainly, it's copying an image of Finni."Bard explained.
"If you don't stay still for 10 seconds, the image will blur and we won't get a good picture. 8, 9, 10...done." Finni sighed. "You didn't have to hold your breath." Right after, they went to a dark room to see how the picture came out.
"Wow! It's my little birdie!"Finni exclaimed.
"Huh? You have a birdie?"
"It's so cute!"
"I have it food everyday and one day it started eating out of my hand."Finni explained. "I was so happy, I gave it a gentle pat and.." He showed what happened by breaking off the head of a wooden bear. "It stopped moving."
"Y-you mean?" Tanaka returned to original size.
"Ah! I forgot. The only loved ones that the camera will show are otherworldly beings. In other words, the dead."
"Th-the dead?!"
"The photo contains the otherworldly being you remember most fondly. In other words, someone dead." Mey-Rin and Bard screamed in fear.
"Like anyone would believe such a story in the nineteenth century."Bard exclaimed.
"Amazing, yes! What an outstanding camera!"
"My poor little Birdie!"Finni cried.
"Take a picture of Sebastian and Victoria with this camera. But don't let them notice."
"So you mean like a candid photo?"
"Yes."
"W-who does Sebastian think of most fondly, yes?"
"I might want to see that."Finni said.
"He's always gripin' about my artistic cooking! He's as human as anyone of us! He must have a weakness or two! This is our chance!"
