Here were the Rules to the game.
It would start off with the oldest - Hannah - Then whoever she dared would either refuse or go ahead. If they refused , they had to do the ultimate thing. Something so horrible that it made the dare look like cake.
The Winner, the one who did every dare without backing out, would get all the money in the pile that everyone of us empties out of our pockets. As I looked at the 200$ and the way Colly kept knotting her hands together, I knew that this was going to be bad.
Hey, I had nothing against the game, don't get me wrong, it was just ... Hannah.
Hannah had a way of taking things to far and everyone in this group knew it. I knew the way she looked at me as if I was the freak of the night that freaked her out, But I wasn't going to change for anyone.
What a lie.
I pulled on my black hair as Hannah recited the rules again. I rolled my eyes and Lynn shot me a smirk and I shot her one back. The one thing I can say about her, was she didn't take crap just like me.
' Okay , ' Hannah said, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear and turning to all of us and pointing. ' I Go first. '
I slicked off the bed and Padded my way to the floor. We all sat in one circle and Lynn started to laugh and everyone looked at her.
' Please tell me your not going crazy, '
I comment to her and she just laughs and shoots up, Heading to her desk that seemed to be devoured by papers.
' If we are going to make this shit real, Lets go all out. I'll get the candles my mother bought me too ' Rekindle our relationship' '
She made air quotes with fingers and bent over to sling open the last white drawer.
She stuck her hand in the air and started to pull out small tea cup candles and Hannah shot up to help and Lynn turned around and nodded her head to the light switch.
' Get that?' I sighed and heaved myself up. This was probably the stupidest thing I could ever think of, But I obeyed anyways. I needed that money. I needed that money more that any girl here.
Some secrets , not even your best friend can know.
I flicked the light switch and soon we were all obscured in dark. I braced my hand on the wall as I hear a hiss , A flick , and then the little orb of the lighter Lynn was Holding.
' Colly, hold the candle while I light it, then hand it to Hannah. Hannah, put it in the little glass vase thing, then hand it to Mimi , who can lay them around in a circle in the middle.'
The process went just like that. Lynn lit, Colly held, Hannah positioned, and I went in damn circles making sure it was perfect.
When everything was finished, we positioned ourselves around in a circle, the only light from the seven candles in the middle.
I had to admit, for a girl who never got freaked out, It was pretty Eerie. The way Hannah's blue eyes shined in the light and the way only Half of Colly face showed.
The girls all could have been hiding secrets in that moment, and you wouldn't even be able to tell.
You ever hear that saying? there is a reason for everything in this world ?
Well, there was a reason Hannah wanted to play that Game.
There was a reason I needed that Money.
There was a reason Lynn did that Dare.
There was a reason Colly kept her secret.
There is a reason to everything, and Life is nothing but a chain of events, and us girls knocked down that first chain, when Hannah looked at Colly and said, Half hidden in the light, Half in the dark:
' Get naked and run to the corner store and steal three things. ' We our held our breaths and then Hannah said those three words.
The three words I would love to grab and bring back.
' I dare you. '
