This morning when Rue sat up in bed she know something eventful would happen today. She could feel it in the air, taste it even, the static electricity generated by her excited peers. She wondered what in heaven's name they were doing in her house this early in the morning. After getting dressed in her normal attire, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her light brown complexion complemented her blue eye, but left the brown eye looking dull and unfocused. She knew there was nothing that could be done with her honey brown, baby blue tipped, afro styled hair so she left it as it was. Grabbing the necessities needed to train, she started to descend the stairs only to be greeted by the three most annoyingly playful people on the planet Namai. Eztil Delacroix, with his purple hair, pointed ears and light blue eyes, really stood out most in the group, but he wasn’t the only funny looking Namayan Rue had come across on the time spend on this planet. Mererid and Myrddyn Mags, the twins, were moderately attractive with a dash of weirdness because they were mirror images of each other.

“Morning gorgeous!” Eztil beamed in his seat as he saw one of his best friends at the bottom of the stairs. To be greeted by these three people, first thing in the morning, takes a substantial amount of patentice and coffee, which Rue happened to be out of that morning.

“Why are you in my house?” Rue groaned.

“We planned to train this morning, remember?” The twins replied excitedly.

“I remember saying I needed to get more training hours. I do not remember inviting any of you.” Rue snapped angrily.

“Hey, I know midterms are tomorrow and you’re still upset about yesterday's training session, but we are here to help you, not bring you down. Don't make us feel bad for doing so.” Eztil replied standing up to give her a hug.

Realizing that she was in error, Rue apologized as they headed to their personalized training area, which happened to be a beautiful cave. It was once home to one of the most powerful witches before she mysteriously disappeared in the night, never to be seen again. This cave was special to all of them because they all felt connected to it, and they all became friends there on the first day of school. They personalized it with bright lights, boulders disguised as bean bags, a colorful carpet, and everything needed to practice their magic. As they continued to the cave, Rue couldn’t help but think about yesterday’s training session. Starting off with a minimal hour of meditation to focus the magic in her body. She was used to the dull burning sensation of her magic, in her mind, in her hands and feet, but mainly centered in the pit of her stomach where it ached the most. She began to mumble the incantation as she pushed her golden colored magic towards the river that runs through the cave, getting louder and louder every time her magic wouldn't move closer. As soon as her magic disturbed the waters flow she pushed hard to lift it, getting a headache in the process. Everything was fine, getting a headache while practicing was normal for her. Suddenly the water fell through her magic and evaporated into thin air. Forcing her magic back into her body Rue turned to her friends, her face colored in disappointment while her eyes filled with tears.

“Rue. Rue. Rue!” The orotund voice of Myrddyn called as they arrived at their training cave. He and Rue were the only two left outside, Eztil and Mererid already inside setting up to train.

“Sorry, I was remembering yesterday.” Rue replied with bitterness in her tone.

“Don't worry,” Zolin called from inside the cave, “You’ll get it today, I know you will.”

“Yeah, you’ll get it today.” Myrddyn agreed as his arm found a spot on Rue’s shoulder, gently guiding her toward the cave opening.

With sweaty palms Rue entered, feeling pressured to do her best. She wouldn't let her friends down again. The beauty of the cave never failed to shock her. Years worth of laughter and tears flooded her memory. Being an empath Myrddyn knew how she felt. He created a calm atmosphere around the cave and went to sit on one of his favorite bean bags to meditate. The rest of the group followed his lead and did the same.
