The car stops in front of the small restaurant, and Yuri and Victor wait for the chauffeur to open the door. The stout man comes around the side, opens the door, and motions for them to step out of the vehicle. Victor and Yuri both exchange polite smiles before seeing themselves out. They approach the restaurant, and Victor holds the door for Yuri, which causes him to blush.
"T-thanks" Viktor gives him another smile but this time more affectionate "my pleasure"
The pair walk inside and are greeted by a tall, dark haired Italian man standing at the register across the room. "Yuri! My boy! It's been too long!" Yuri chuckles at his usual boisterousness. "Ah yeah. It's been what.... a week now?" Victor, obviously confused as to what was going on, just stood still and smiled happily. He realized that these two had know each other for quite a long time. Seeing Victor's somewhat awkward confusion, "Papa Louis" decided to greet him.
"Ah! And who would this be? You look familiar..." Yuri politely cut him off. "That's right! He's Victor Nikiforov, five time men's world champion. We used to watch him together when I was younger." The Italian man looked aghast. "Is this true?" Victor nodded his head. "But for right now, I'm just Yuri's guest. And he said that you had the best service in town." Halting in his gawking, Papa Louis hurriedly shuffled his menus and led the pair to a table.
Papa Louis led them to a private seat in the back, just for two. "Hello I am Donna I will be your waitress for today, what would you men like for today?"
Yuri replied, "Hi Donna, may we have two of my regular order?" He knew that if Victor was anything like him, it would be the best thing he had ever tasted. At least, Yuri hoped that he would like it. "Of course. And I don't think I know you. Are you knew here?" Donna batted her eyelashes. This set off alarm bells in Yuri's head, but Victor politely waved her off before her flirting could go any further. "Yes, I'm just Yuri's..." Victor looked at Yuri for approval in what he was about to say. Yuri nodded his head
"Boyfriend, I came in from out of town this weekend to train with him for an upcoming skating match." Donna smiled and backed off, looking somewhat disappointed. "It seems that your from farther away than just out of town." "Yes, that's because I'm from St. Petersburg, Russia. I had to move there for training." She looked amused but didn't want to cause Yuri any discomfort. They had been friends growing up. "Well, if you're anything like Yuri, your in for the experience of a life time!" She sashayed off.
Yuri was a bit weirded out by what just happened and the thought of him calling him his boyfriend was crazy "Viktor.... D-do you think of me as your lover more than a skating partner?"
"I'll be anything you want me to be, but that, was just to get ride of any unwanted attention.... partially." Victor said this with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"W-what do you mean partially?" Yuri felt a blush creep upon his face and attempted to hide his face.
Victor removes Yuris arm from his face. "Like I said, it can mean anything you want it to mean. What does it mean to you Yuri?" Before Yuri could answer, or even attempt to get words out, their food arrived.
"Here you go" she says as she lays the plates down and shay shays away. Yuri just stares at his food thinking about what he was going to say to Viktor.
Victor, feeling bad for making Yuri feel tense, decided to lighten up the mood by acting oblivious. "What's the matter Yuri, these Pork pastramis aren't going to eat themselves!" Yuri looked up. "Y...Yeah! And how do you know what these are?" Victor laughed. "If you've been all over the world there's very few things you haven't tried." Victor took a bite of the dish, causing his eyes to light up. "Amazing! This is by far the best pastrami I have ever tasted, including the one I tried in the heart of Italy."
Yuri takes a bite and eats the rest of it as fast as he could. "Now you know why I love these so much now right?"
Victor groans. "Yes... you have good taste. But I'm stuffed." Yuri knows that even on the road, Victor isn't used to eating like this. Hell, he probably had a personal chef and nutritionist. But, Yuri was determined to make this the best day possible for the both of them. "Not a problem! Why don't we take it slow... catch a carriage ride or something and let me show you around the city?"
"Wow" Yuri chuckled "that would be amazing"
They paid the tab and got up from their seat. "Our rides waiting." Victor said, again holding the door for Yuri. They got into the limo and drove for a few blocks until Yuri motioned for the chauffeur to stop. "This is the place." Before then stood a large, white covered carriage, pulled by a brown horse that was led by a man in a black hat.
Yuri stood flabbergasted and fell onto Viktor "uh oops" and Yuri got off of Viktor.
Victor had a look of genuine concern plastered across his face as he helped Yuri up. "Are you feeling okay?" "Y..Yeah I'm fine. Thankyou." Yuri brushed himself off and looked at his feet. "Then let's go." Victor smiled and stepped into the carriage. Yuri was soon to follow, taking Victor's hand to help him up. Though the carriage was a four-seater, they sat across from each other, much to Victor's disappointment. He wondered if he had some how made Yuri dislike him.
Yuri started pointing out old buildings and monuments and Viktor still wondered if Yuri still liked him. "Yuri," Viktor grabs his hand.
Yuri jolts in surprise. "Y.. Yes?" He questions, afraid he was doing something wrong. "About that question I asked earlier... did it insult you?"
Yuri looked into his eyes " no. No it didn't insult me" he lifts his other hand in temptation to grab Viktor's hand but Viktor quenched his thoughts and grabed his other hand which made Yuri blush " Viktor, t-there is something I'd like to tell you...."
Victor's eyes returned to their usual calm state, letting Yuri know that it was safe to speak his mind.
"I-I have held this back ever sence I met you, but I... I like you and I think we should be together.."
Victors decided to prod further. "Do you mean like skating partners or...."
"I mean more than that Viktor"
Victor cocked his brow. Now that was what he'd wanted to hear, but he was somewhat surprised. "Ah, then you wouldn't mind coming to my hotel room later this evening for dinner would you?"
Yuri blushed "I don't mind I don't have plans for this after noon"
Victor still found himself having a fascination with Yuri's life before him. "Hard to believe. Especially that someone like you doesn't have a girlfriend already."
"Really? People have asked before but I just wasn't ready, but you.... You are a life changer" Yuri had become amazed by the fact that the worlds greatest ice skater was his boyfriend....
Victor laughed. "I wouldn't give myself that much credit, but I guess the heart can only want what it wants."
