"We need to keep moving."
"What?"
"Don't stop! Keep going!"
"But you said we were safe!"
"No. I said we were safer, not safe." She shoved him out the room into the hallway and ran towards the staircase at the end of the hall.
"Follow me!" she called back as he ran after her, the building falling apart around them as they ran. She made it to the stairs and waited for the boy as they ran up.
They burst through the door to the roof and the girl ran to the end as the boy watched from the door, out of breath and afraid for his life.
"Look I don't know what planet you're from but this-"he paused out of breath. "Is too insane to be real" She didn't stop running and suddenly found herself at the end of the roof. The boy ran after her now, calling out to her.
"Stop! What are you doing?" she looked back, standing on the small edge of the roof
"Living" she said with a voice of concern. She held her arms out and fell back off the roof, he ran after her calling her name.
"Jump!" she called back, disappearing through the fog.
The boy stood up and walked back. "This is crazy this is crazy" he said to himself
"This is CRAZY" he said as he began to jog towards the edge, "This is INSANE" he called out as his feet left the roof, his body planking as he plummeted. His face immediately grew cold, he could feel the liquid from his eyes falling back to his ears. The rush of oxygen made it extremely difficult to breath.
He looked back up, rushed air filling his nostrils in pain. He watched as the building disappeared into the fog. He looked behind him, the building's glass windows cracking with the cement walls. He watched as the building fell to pieces slowly. Large chunks split apart and fell with him.
"Wow" he whispered. He looked down at the fog rushing around him, the harsh oxygen froze around his face. Jax attempted to breathe in but the oxygen seemed to solidify and reject Jax's lungs. Jax gasped for air as his speed increased.
