A/N This is my first story so please don't judge ne much

Once upon a time, in the land of kings and queens, knights and sorcerers, and where fairy godmothers were given to those who deserved them most, lived a girl who wasn't much like the others, because in this land people who didn't fit what everyone wanted them to be, were murdered. Yet this one girl showed who she was and was hated by those who she called her family, her name was Cinderella.
Cinderella grew up in a loving household but she wasn't always Cinderella. She was born Charles a handsome young man who always seemed to rather help his mother with the housework rather than help his father with the more demanding tasks. As well as preferring dresses than the suits he was forced to wear, being found a lot of the time trying on his mother's dresses that were much too big for him. Charles was referred to as "More of a girl than a boy" and Charles seemed to love this. After 8 years he finally asked his mom and dad to refer to him as Cinderella, their daughter. Cinderella's mother was completely okay with this offering to get dresses for her. Cinderella's father, however, seemed hesitant although he grew to love his child as Cinderella.
The happiness didn't last long, however, 2 years after becoming Cinderella her mother died. The father mourned and grieved for his late wife but Cinderella stayed strong. She picked up all of the housework chores the servants weren't expected to do. She took care of her father until he was back to his normal. Cinderella never got over her mother's death unable to grieve for she was taking care of her father. She did, however, held onto her mother's last words to her, "Never be afraid to show who you are, never let anyone turn you into an unloving shell of a woman." These words meant everything to Cinderella it was the only thing to help her remember her mother.
Things got worse however, Cinderella's father didn't want her to grow up without a mother so he re-married to a horrible woman with no love for anyone other than her two sickening daughters. These two women were known to be perfect, they were amazing at violin and were chased after by almost every man that has seen them. Since the men were blinded by their looks they weren't able to see how horrible these women are. Selfish, envious, and jealous are some of the words to describe these sisters but the mother is the reason they are all like this. Their mother are just like them but worse she hated everything that wasn't what she wanted or how she wanted it. Cinderella had no idea why her father fell for her, if he took any time to talk to her, he would realize how horrible she is.
The stepsisters and the step-mother dealt with Cinderella if only barely. Every now and then they make a comment about Cinderella not really being a woman. Around four years later however Cinderella's father dies, leaving Cinderella alone with her stepmother and stepsiblings, who revealed their true colors once he died only referring to Cinderella as Charles much to her dismay. She was treated like the lowest servant, living in the attic with no way to leave the house, only being allowed to wear suits, and being forced to do all the housework including sewing all the clothes back together which happens too often.
Cinderella was sewing up some dresses the sisters ripped again when the oldest sister barged in, "Charles! We need you to help us put on our dresses for the ball tonight," she barked loudly. "What ball?" Cinderella asked, confused she usually overhears events that are going to happen soon but no one talked about the ball. "The prince is throwing a ball to find a wife now hurry up." Cinderella perked up instantly hoping she could convince them to take her. "May I can go with you? If they're asking for all the women to go than I should be going don't you think?" The sister howled with laughter instantly "You're not even a woman! What makes you think you would be even considered as the prince's servant? You're not a real woman or a servant! You know what we don't need your help we'll get a competent servant to help us." She left the room leaving Cinderella sitting there barely holding her tears in.
A little time passes and Cinderella watches as her step-family ride away in the carriage. Cinderella isn't able to hold it in any longer and runs to the back of the house crying her eyes out. A little old woman comes and sits next to her. "It's okay Cinderella you don't have to cry anymore" Cinderella looks at her tears still fresh in her eyes. "Why? I'm not even called by my name here." The old woman comforts her, "Don't worry Cinderella, I'll get you to the ball." Cinderella looked up at her tears flowing down her cheek "How? The only way you'd be able to make anything that would help me would be by magic." The old lady got up and stood next to the banister "Well, by magic like you said!" The woman flicked her wand and transformed into someone that looked like they deserved to go to the ball.
Cinderella stared in amazement not sure what she just saw. The woman, now acting much more hyper, clapped her hands together "Chop chop, now. We have some work to do." The woman walked to the garden and hauled a pumpkin to the road near the gate. "Now, Cinderella, grab me four mice, a rat, and some lizards." Cinderella, confused, fetched the animals and brought them to her. With a flick of the woman's wand and a quick incantation, she turned the mice into horses, the rat into a coachman, the lizards into footmen, and finally turned the pumpkin into a beautiful carriage. "Now finally," said the woman turning towards Cinderella "There is a box behind the house, open it and bring me the blue drapes, hurry now! We need to get you to the ball." Cinderella ran to the box and brought her the blue drapes.
The woman then flicked her wand, which sent the drapes flying into the air. The drapes flew down then wrapped around Cinderella, in a flurry of blue the drapes disappeared and left Cinderella in beautiful, blue ball gown. Cinderella's face split into a smile and she hugged the woman, "Thank you so much! But what about my shoes? They are not fit for such a beautiful dress." Cinderella asked. "Ah I almost forgot!" she reached into her purse that she had with her and pulled out beautiful glass slippers, "Put these on they are the only other thing you need, now go quickly it's 9:30, you have only till midnight then the magic will wear off so go quickly!" The woman shooed Cinderella into the carriage and sent it on the way to the castle. Cinderella waved out the window to the woman as she rode away.
