Winter snowfakes toss and turn,
Harsh artic winds begin to burn,
Icicles drip from your nose,
You try in vain to warm your toes.
Outside things are draped in ice,
It makes for quite a pretty sight.
Screams of laughter fill the air,
From children outside with layers to spare.
Smoke rises from the house nearby,
Blending in with the dark grey sky,
Outside dusk begins to fall
Mothers their children inside do call.
The radio warns of more cold to come.
It might even be the death of some
You pray that everyone's safe tonight,
And that tomorrow all will be alright.
