☆Gen☆
I was frustrated. Not only was it raining cats and dogs, but the couple I was working on was giving me a headache. Even now, standing across the slightly crowded hallway from each other, they would rather steal glances while the other wasnt looking instead of manning up and going over to talk.
I rubbed my temples in hopes to rid myself of the constant headache I seemed to have acquired over the last few weeks. It could be because I've been in my vessel for to long. The last time I flew free was months ago.
Another throbbing pain hit my head when I thought of how mad he would be if he ever found out. With a sigh, I shut my locket. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Gen Rowling? How are you doing on this beautiful day?" The amount of sarcasm in that deep voice was enough to tell me who it was. "Ronan. Aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" I stated bitterly and started walking towards my art class. It was the only class that I actually enjoyed here. "See? I knew you liked me." He laughed slinging his arm around my shoulders. "If you don't remove that arm, you will get hurt." I warned. All he did was laugh. Giving me a single squeeze he stopped as we got to the art room. "I'll see you around Genn." I rolled my eyes and walked into the room. It was going to be a long last two periods.♤Ronan♤
There was something off about her. She looked to pale and unfocused. I watched her walk into her class and take a seat. Her head went directly on the table, eyes closed and forehead scrunched up in pain. Something was wrong and she wasn't telling me. You'd think that after working together from the beginning, she'd tell me if she was feeling bad. But no. Maybe it was for the best, I guess. I took one more look at her and walked away.
A smile pulled at my lips when I spotted April and Josh, two clueless people walking on opposite sides of the hall. I took off running toward April. "Move! Move! Move!" I called. She moved just in time, bumping into Josh making her books fly in all directions. I only heard a sharp gasp and a quick apology before I rounded to corner to my own class. Geometry. What a joy.☆Gen☆
My headache was getting worse. I was thinking of skipping my last class. Not like anyone would mind. It was only gym. What stopped me from actually skipping, was the fact that my couple had that class together. I was needed there.
So I hauled myself out of my seat and had to steady myself. The pounding in my head wasn't getting any better. In fact it was getting worse. Lights were to bright and my body felt heavy. "Gen. Are you okay?" Asked Ms. Bourne as I walked passed her table. "I'm fine. Just feeling a bit dizzy. See you tomorrow." She nodded and I walked out into the loud hallway. A heavy weight fell on my shoulders. "About time you got out of there!" Ronan said cheerfully. I groaned and took her arm off from around my shoulders. "Ronan. Please. I'm really not in the mood to play your game." All he did was laugh. "Oh, my sweet Gen. You should know by now. I don't play games." I turned to him and smiled. "Even if you played the game, you're no match for me." I said and turned sharply. Back idea, really. My sharp turn, turned into what would have been a really bad fall had Ronan not grabbed my arm before I fell.
The world was still spinning and sound disappeared for a few seconds. "Gen. Gen!" His voice pierced through the fog that covered my ears. I looked up at him. His eyes full of concern, brows bunched together, lips in a thin line. "Are you okay?" He asked. I straightened out and put my arms around myself. Something was really wrong. "I'm fine. I have to go." I quickly walked away. My previous thought of skipping gym was sounding more and more appealing, and I probably would have done just that, if Bella hadn't turned the corner and caught my eye. I sighed and pulled on a smile when she spotted me. "Gen!" She ran up and hugged me tight. "hey Bella. How are you?" I asked her. "I'm a little nervous." She confessed. I smiled at her. "Trust me. You'll do great. If it was meant to be, which I know it is, it will be. Come on. Lets go get changed." The both of us walked to the locker rooms while she talked her nerves out. I sighed again and rubbed my temple again, really willing the headache away. "Are you sure you're okay?" Bella asked. "You look really pale." I forced a smile. "Its been hard to sleep at nights, but I'll be fine. Don't worry." She shrugged and we got changed as quick as we could. Gym waited for no one.

The longer I watched her the more I was convinced something wasn't right. Coach had us running a mile and she was usually only two runners behind me. Today she was second last. Her face was loosing color the more she ran. "Hey is your girl okay?" Asked Matthew, a fellow classmate who just happen to have been a side of couple I worked last month. "I don't think she is." I answered and sped up. She was shaky. Her steps were dragging and her eyelids were barely staying open. If I pushed hard enough, I could be there in ten seconds flat. Pushing my tired legs even harder, I ran to her. "Move!" I yelled at a group of girls who were blocking my way. Five seconds. Almost.
Stretching my arm out toward her, my fingers wrapped around her arm and I pulled her up just as she slumped down. I just barely stopped before we fell. A sharp pain played on my shin but I ignored it. "Gen. Gen! Wake up." I said. Putting my hand on her cheek, I wasn't surprised to feel how hot she was. "Ro! Are you okay man? What happen?" Matthew asked as he stopped at my side. "I'm fine. I need to get her to the nurse." I said and adjusted my arms to lift her. A sting pulled my attention to my shin again. "Great. Track burn." I mumbled and stood. She was light. Lighter then I was expecting. "Tell coach that I'm taking her to the nurse." I said and started off the track.
I walked into the school and started up the stairs to the roof. My arm tightened on their hold and my jaw clenched painfully. The emotions I was feeling were anything but good. Bottling up the anger, I kicked open the roof door and walked out into the cool air. The wind was pleasant and not to strong. I walked into the shade and sat down, maneuvering Gen where her head lay on my lap. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
It was about a minute or two when her vessel sighed. Next thing I knew, Gen was standing beside us breathing deep. "Freedom!" She chirped and leaped into the air, disappearing into the wind. "Oh no you don't." I said taking another deep breath and slipped from my own vessel. Looking all around, I found her in the sky way above just looking at the ground. I joined her. "I keep forgetting how beautiful it is from up here." She said. With a flick of her wrist a red string appeared. It fell down and down until it latched itself onto something. From the smile on Gen's face, I figured it was more a someone. "She finally did it." She said as the red string split in two and connected to yet another person. On closer inspection, I realized it was the girl I had seen with her earlier. "That is that." She said tying the string and letting it fall. Their fates were sealed now.
We both moved back down to the building. Moments later our vessels stood, as if nothing happened. "How long were you in your vessel, Gen?" I asked just barely concealing my anger. "A while." She said avoiding a clear answer. Pushing her into the wall, I kept her from walking away. "How long!" I demanded. Her eyes were wide and her breathing was heavy. She looked away, down at her hands. "Several weeks. Maybe 2 months." I gritted my teeth and punched the wall behind her. She flinched and I walked away from her. With a couple mintues to compose myself, I was calm enough to face her. "We talked about this." I said gently.
"I know but look, they just needed an extra push. I couldn't afford to -"
"Don't even try to pull that card on me." I warned. "I knew there was something wrong with you the last few days. I thought it was just me. But then you go and faint in gym. You fainted Gen! Don't you understand that?" I turned to look at her. Her eyes downcast, fingers wrung together. "You need to be careful. You can't afford to fall off the grid like I did. People can survive without Coincidence. They can't survive without Fate." I told her. She head snapped up. I gave her a pained smile and walked away. I had said to much anyway.
