My Daughters Teacher

"Mum. Mum, you gotta get up. We gotta get to school" Kai says as she shakes me.

I sigh and sit up looking at her.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"Almost 8" She says.

I go wide eyes and hop off my bed and get dressed.

Why didn't you wake me?" I ask Kai.

She shrugs while moving to sit on my bed.

"You needed the sleep. Don't worry the boys are all ready. I made them breakfast and got their lunches packed" She says.

I walk to her and kiss her cheek.

"You're growing up too fast" I say sighing.

She smiles and walks out of my room. Once I'm dressed I walk down stairs to find the boys ready and a piece of toast with a coffee to go on the kitchen bench.

I smile and eat the toast on the way to the car with my coffee in my hand.

"Thank you sweetheart" I thank Kai.

She smiles and shrugs as if to say no problem. First I drop off the boys then Kai.

"Mum you need to ask me Chad about baby sitting" Kai reminds me.

I sigh, turning the engine off I hop out of my car and walk up with Kai to her home room. She's early which is good since I feel like I rushed this morning.

I walk up to his door. My palms becoming sweaty, my heart pounding as my cheeks warm up. I turn to Kai.

"Why am I doing this?" I ask her.

"Because you need a night out. And he is a manny" She reminds me.

I sigh turning back to the door I knock on it. Soon he opens it. He looks even more gorgeous then before. A grey button up top on done up all the way with a dark blue tie.

He's wearing glasses which makes him all the more scrumptious. His hair is messy but controlled. Black dress pants and black dress shoes. He looks stunning.

"What can I do you for ms Jennings?" He asks with a genuine smile.

Quickly I snap out of it. Too quick for him to realise his looks had had an effect on me.

"Well, Kai here had said you are a baby sitter in your spare time?" I ask more then state.

He looks at Kai quickly and nods his head after some seconds.

"Well, would you be willing to look after Kai and her two brothers tonight? I'll pay you of course" I say.

He chuckles and nods his head.

"You don't need to pay me. Just think of it as a 'I'm sorry for prying' gesture on my behalf" He says.

I look at him skeptically but nod my head in agreement when I am satisfied that he truly is sorry for prying.

"I've got to get to work now. So come around at 6? Just ask Kai for my address" I say as I rush off.

I'm gonna be late for work again.

"You're late again" My boss says.

"I know I'm sorry. I had to speak to one of my daughter's teachers" I say.

"Alright. But you gotta pull your socks up. Your next case starts in four weeks. So you've got that long to get everything sorted" She says.

I nod my head and take my place in the court room by my clients side. Court didn't last long. The men were found guilty.
