I froze, staying completely silent as the voices grew closer.

"I swear I heard something over here..."

"Maybe you're just on edge, Garroth. But then again, if you're absolutely sure..."

"I AM! I am 100% certain that I heard something!"

"...then it's something we shouldn't take lightly. Unless it's a bird, but Kiki has all the birds around here near her. You look that way, I'll look this way."

I couldn't tell which one was which, so just to make sure that I was absolutely hidden, I hid on the highest branch that had leaves and branches covering it to help me hide. Sure my current clothes aren't the best for these hiding missions, but whatever. Luckily for me I could still see through the leaves and the very very VERY poke-y branches.

I caught a glimpse of a male guard, wielding a shimmering diamond sword. That's when it struck me. He turned his head and his sandy blonde hair was blowing in the wind. Almost like one of those cheesy romance scenes in movies, shows, and animes.

Garroth. Of all people to come this way, it HAD to have been him!? Ugh. Whatever.

I threw my voice away from where I was and pretended to seem like I was hurt.

In the distance, you could just barely hear my voice. But if you truly were a good guard, you could hear it.

"No! Please, don't hurt him! He's the only one I can truly trust and love! Leave him alone you big bully!"

(A/N: BTW, Underlined words/sentences will mean from a distance. Got it? Ok.)

"What was that?"

I could hear footsteps quickly thumping towards Garroth. Me as well, but I was outta sight.

"Garroth! Did you hear that?"

I stare downwards at Garroth and the other guard. The other guard has red, shimmering katanas, and blue hair. That's all I could tell from that angle.

That guy duel-wields? Hmm... Rare. It's very rare to see a guard duel-wielding anymore. Quite a shame. It's such a talent too.

"Yes, I did. I'm not going to bother asking you because I already know that answer."

"Well then, what are we standing around here for!? Lets GO!!"

The two of them ran off towards wherever I threw my voice. I restrained myself to ensure I wouldn't snicker. As I jumped down from the tree, my necklace got caught on one of the highest branches. The necklace slipped off of my neck, and I landed on the solid grass patches that were like blotches on an empty canvas. The path way was dotted up by grass and occasional weeds.

I look up at the branch and sigh, clearly frustrated.

Great. Just great. Ugh. I'll get it when I head back to O'Khasis. That is, if I remember...

I turn to see the sun rising. I assumed I got here earlier than I calculated. I walked up to the gate of Phoenix Drop, weary of what I might walk into. It was WIDE OPEN.
