Chapter 1
On a summer day in Jasper Park, Canada a young Grey Wolf named Kyla was out running through the valley in which her packs territory took up. She was out looking for ripe cranberries that grew there. She usually wandered far from her den to explore the land around her. She was a young and curious wolf and loved to explore any new place she found. She didn't have a small pack of only a few wolves she had a group of packs. Having this there was also an Alpha of Alphas. But all wolves got along living kindly with each other. Her alpha female Korra was a strong and noble leader taking pride in what she did as leader of the packs. Although with her flawless leadership and love for all she and her packs rivaled another large group of wolves just like hers. They didn’t have an actual name but they called them eastern wolves. They would ruin hunts, sneak in and steal food, and kill others in the western packs group. It has been this way for generations and has no means of turning into friendship. The leader of the eastern packs was ruled by a large and powerful alpha male named Rollin. He never found friendship in the western packs either thus creating fights when it comes to food and land. What was strange about both groups was that western pack had no alpha male, and the eastern pack had no alpha female. They never really found any value or necessity in this so it never phased them.
As Kyla finished the last few berries that she had found she made her way back to the den. Kyla was a Beta and in training to be a Co-Alpha. In fact Korra was Kyla’s best friends and her being a young alpha made her a great friend for Kyla despite all the friends she already knows and loves. When she got back to the den she found a few of her friends and her alpha who had been waiting for her arrival. “You got back just in time!” said a small, plump wolf they called Farkas. “Sorry I was searching for cranberries.” Kyla said. “Well, I hope you left room for some caribou freshly caught!” said one of her other male friends they called Saff excitedly. “Yeah, actually that sounds amazing” replied Kyla. The wolves feasted on the the delectable meat of the caribou and in the middle of eating there was a loud panting sound coming from a wolf at the mouth of the den. Korra ran out to see what the matter was and Kyla, Farkas, and Saff followed behind. Two tall wolves one male and one female were panting and could hardly speak. “What happened here!” Korra said in an nervous voice. “Larro was jumped by a couple of the eastern wolves!” exclaimed they tall female wolf they called Katelyn. “ I knew they were out to get my wolves” yelled Korra in a angry tone. She huffed a couple of heavy breaths and then turned to speak to Kyla. “Kyla can you go tell the rest of the alphas to get everyone together, I need to talk to them.” Kyla answered a simple “Sure, no problem” and quickly slid passed Korra and ran to all the dens the alphas were taking up. To each one she simply said “Gather everyone together Korra wants to talk to them.” They all nodded and got the closest wolves together at the bottom of the valley. Korra found were everyone had gather up and jumped up to a high rock in front of them so that she could she them and they could see her. Korra began “Packs we have another injured wolf. This injury was caused my one of the eastern wolves.” Korra motioned Larro to come up and show them his wounds. He had scratches on his sides and teeth marks on his throat. Korra then told him to go find a nurse wolf and to get patched up. She then continued, “These marks were not made to only injure but, to kill. We cannot let the eastern packs do this to us. Tomorrow I will be speaking with Rollin about this. I promise we will solve this problem one way or another.” Korra finished and turned to the trio of wolves that had been with her in the den. “You three get back to the den and get some rest we’ll handle all of this tomorrow, OK?” The trio answered a simple “OK” and walked back to the den.
The next day was a big day for everyone. They were going to come out and talk to Rollin. Korra walked cautiously to the end of the eastern wolves territory and was greeted by Rollin. “Korra! I haven’t seen you in a while, I’ve missed you have you missed me?” Rollin said in a kind of sarcastic voice. Korra replied back in a strong and firm tone, “Rollin a few of your wolves nearly killed mine. The injured wolf was also on our territory which means one of your wolves crossed into OUR territory!” Rollin started to laugh. “HA, I told them that any territory is their territory!” “There are territories for a reason to have our own land. Rollin if you can’t respect that then leave the valley!” Korra yelled. “ You really think I’m going to take orders from...” Rollin paused before he could finish what he was wanting to say. He then started again but, this time looked at Kyla and smiled. “Oh, and who is this?”Rollin asked. Korra replied firmly “She’s my beta and in training to be a CO-alpha.” “Hmhmhm, Well what a beauty she is. Can I speak to her for a little while.” Rollin asked in a calmer tone. “For what purpose?” Korra demanded. “I like this one, she's got beautiful eyes and a well-kept mane and I’d like to get to know her. So, why don’t you walk up her young wolf so I can see you better.” Rollin finished. Kyla walked closer hesitantly for she was afraid it was a trap for a another kill. She stopped when she was only a foot from her alpha, but was also only two feet from Rollin. “Would you please follow me to my territory and we can talk?” Rollin asked. Kyla turned to see what her alpha thought this request. Korra then spoke. “She can go with you but I expect to see her again soon. If not I swear I will hunt you down and kill you myself!” Rollin simply said, “Amazing! Come Kyla let me show you around a bit.” Kyla looked back at her alpha one last time and then looked forward again.
