I'm just a teenager that only have 17 yo, i'm just a girl, a women, a human, a survivor.
Maybe this message will be read/heard and maybe not, but i dont care, I just wanna talk and sensitize some souls about what's going on in this cruel world.
Today, i choose to write about mental illness, i know now some of u are like "Wtf", but yes i only have 17 yo and i'm gonna talk about it.
I think it's considered shameful to admit ur mental illness or to tell people about it. Some people are too embarrassed to say that their kid, friend or teenager is mentally ill. This is wrong. This forced silence, It's wrong.
When someone mentions "Mental ill" people take it like a joke and already thinks about "psychopathe"
GET A LIFE PLZ.
Mental illness means: "Depression, Anexity, ED, Phobic disorder, Social phobia, Bipolar disorder, OCD, Schizophrenia, Narcisism..." and this can be fixed by some therapies and treatements.
People who gets cancer, diabetes, pneumonia, heart problems, or a broken leg, are all encouraged to tell everyone about their problems. That way, people pray for them, people send them get well wishes. People try to help them in what little or great ways they can.
But when u tell about ur mental illness, you are often stressed and shamed and told to keep it to yourself from now on.
This has to stop. All of you with friends or family with mental illness, speak out for them! Be their friend, help them! Pray for them! Raise awareness! Above all, never shame a mentally ill person into silence. I think the most difficult and strong battle that could ever exist is with ourselves.
The stereotypes and stigmas attached to mental illness need to be stopped. They only make matters worse for anyone who lives with it.
A lot of people have mental illnesses and someone might not know by looking at them. Not everyone that has a mental condition is crazy, unstable or unsafe. With the right therapy plan they can function just like anyone else.
Stop being judgmental, we're all human beings at the end of the day, shouldn't be judged or tagged by illnesses, lifestyle, skin colour, race, religion etc..
Let's all be united as one for a more beautiful and less harsh world.
