She was wearing a pink tank top and short cut off jeans. Her long, bleach blonde hair got in the way as she walks on the windy streets of Cloud City. She hugged herself with one hand, in the other, a trumpet case. Her teeth chattered. Great idea, Gina, she thought to herself. You had to were this stupid outfit, on this cold ass day. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Here, this'll keep me warm. She reached into her other pocket and pulled out a lighter and lit her cigarette. A puff of smoke went up in the cloudy sky. Hey, that's a promising sign, when we're in the field, the sun won't give me sunburn. She finally got to the outside door of the band room. Expecting to see Mr. Tevans, the Cloud City high school band director, she put on a big smile. Instead, she saw no one. "Um, Mr. Tevans?" She said aloud. Confused, she looked at the clock on the wall. The whole entire band was supposed to meet at 6:00pm, but the clock read 3:02pm. Damn it, I'm freaking three hours early. Ugh, I guess I'll have to wait. She sat down in her chair, and got her trumpet out. She started to play when she paused to cough a smoker's cough. Then, a small, shiny glimmer caught her eye. She turned her head to see what it was. Under one of the chairs, was the front of a clarinet. She could only see the front half. "Ugh she's such an ass." She got up from her seat, placing her trumpet on the floor. She walked over there to grab the clarinet. That's when she saw it, and screamed.

Death By Music Chapt. 1

"Holy shit, it's so freaking cold!" Sasha exclaimed as she hugged herself even tighter. "Oh come on, it's not that cold." Ricardo rolled his eyes. "Easy for you to say, you don't have shorts on." Sasha punched Ricardo's arm. He punched her back, and they started to hit each other repeatedly. Niña was walking in front of them. "Uuuh, stop it you guys, we're gonna be late!" She yelled. Sasha and Ricardo stopped. Sasha got her phone out to see the time. "It's only 3:09" she said. "So? Remember the rules of time in band," Niña started. "Early is on time, on time is late, late is in trouble." Sasha and Ricardo finished in insink. "Exactly." Niña pointed her finger at them. They walked on the streets of Cloud City, towards the high school band room. Niña was wearing her band hoodie with black jeans and a fedora. Her pink converse squeaked on the sidewalk. Her hair was red with dark blue tips. It was mostly cut off, into very short emo hair. Sasha was wearing short- shorts and sandals with a blue t-shirt and cut off sleeves. "Why didn't you wear a freakin' jacket?" Ricardo asked. "Why do you care so much?" Sasha responded. "You're gonna catch phenomena." He said. Sasha looked at him. Ricardo was wearing a thin, soft black jacket with a Twenty-one pilots t-shirt on. "Ugh, I have a date after band practice so I wanted to dress sexy." Niña and Ricardo stopped walking and looked at her. "Really? Already? With who?" Ricardo asked surprised. "It's doesn't matter." "Alright then let's keep going." Niña said, tried to break the awkwardness. They kept on walking when Sasha dropped her flute case in the grass. "Oops." She said. Niña flipped out. "Aaaaaahhhh!" Niña yelled and picked it up. "Come on man this crap isn't cheap, plus you have to treat your instrument like a baby." She gave it to Sasha. Niña started petting her clarinet case and started walking again. "She's right you know." Ricardo added. He swished his black emo hair out of his eyes. He's been in band ever since he moved to Cloud City from Brazil. The band and Niña was all he ever really known. He caught up with Niña. Sasha rolled her eyes and caught up with them "Okay, I'll try to be more careful next time." "Thank you." Niña said in a satisfied voice. She looked out in front of her and saw a familiar figure. "Now come on, I see Shaun!" Niña ran toward her other best friend and hugged him right as she could. "Hey, I need room to breath." He laughed. Shaun was another clarinet player in the band. He looks like he should be on the football team, but he was not into sports. Everybody thought he seriously looks, even sounded like Drake. That day he wore an outfit that looked exactly like Drake in "Hotline bling." Plus, he can sing every word of every Drake song in existence. But what confuses most people is that he's a big, sexy guy, who looks like he should be on the football team, plays the clarinet. It suits him. "Hey Shaun" Sasha said. "Oh, uh, hey Sasha. How are you and um, Jake doing this summer? Something special?" He asked awkwardly. "We broke up before summer vacation." She said with a blank face. "Oh uh, sorry to hear that, I knew you two were "In love." "That's okay, he was a jackass anyway." She shrugged sadly. Sasha and Jake were dating for only one month. They were already talking about children. "Uhh, enough with this awkward crap, let's go to band!" Niña playfully pushed Shaun and ran toward the school. Shaun laughed and ran after her. Sasha and Ricardo started running too. Niña was at the band door when she saw a cigarette in the grass, still smoking. "Oh that could be a fire hazard, probably" she stomped it out and opened the door. What she saw she could never forget.
