At first everything was quiet, then the shower curtain rattled, the toilet flushed, and the towels flew into the air simultaneously. It was quite frightening, never in my life had John been this angry. I could feel his sorrow and frustration course through me.
"John please...I-I'm not happy either, but my parents are kicking me out, I have no choice."
All of a sudden everything stopped, the anger and pain were still there, but all movement ceased. Then I heard his voice...
"Dont....leave....me...."
My eyes widened and I swore I felt a tear trail down my cheek. I felt whispy fingers wipe the tear away, but I knew no one was there.
"John...I'm so sorry. B-But you spoke! I-I've never heard you speak before. It must have taken alot of effort..."
"...Lucy..."
I gasped, a smile wide on my face, "Y-You did it again! Aha!"
I could feel his angst slowly disappear as it was replaced by happiness at making me smile. It was strange, but it was almost as if we could both read each other like an open book.
His fingers didn't stop at my cheek, the soft touch continued down my jawline and back up to brush the hair away from my face.
"I wish I could touch you...I wish I could feel the warmth from your hand, I wish it with all my heart." I reached up and set my hand over where his would be, caressing my cheek softly.
I closed my eyes, enjoying his cool ghostly touch when I felt a sudden chill on my lips, a soft pressure. My eyelids flutter open when I finally realize what it was I felt....a kiss. His kiss. John had kissed me...
"J-John?"
The shower curtain rustled.
"I'm going to try and find out your age if you dont mind." I opened my hand, "Ok, are you old?"
The quarter in my palm flipped to tails and I sighed, relieved.
"Ok. So are you 30?" The quarter flipped over twice but remained on tails. "Oh, good. Younger?" The coin landed on heads and I smiled.
"Alright, younger than 25?" It remained on heads, my smile widened. "Younger than 20?" It was a no. "Hmm... Are you 20?"
I stared intently at the coin, praying he wasnt any older. And my prayers were answered, the coin flipped onto heads.
