Whisper

I moan at the sound of my alarm clock beeping and roll over to turn it off. I jump out of bed and smile when I remember it's Saturday because today I go on a trail ride with my best friend Skylar. My phone buzzes and I head over to it *We still on for today?-Skylar* I respond *Definitely, meet in 15!-Lily* I quickly head over to my closet and pull on a pair of long tan breeches, my favorite purple T-shirt, long socks, and slip on my black boots.

As I head downstairs I see my mom making breakfast. I give her a hug good morning and she serves me some scrambled eggs and bacon. Mmmmmm my favorite! I eat my breakfast quickly and head out to meet Skylar, since I only live 10 minuets from the barn I usually walk. Skylar lives in the same neighborhood as me so we meet up and walk to the barn together.

As I walk outside I feel the nice May sun warm my skin. I start walking down the sidewalk and I soon recognize Skylar's face and we run up to each other and hug. Even though Skylar and I see each other practically every day, one night without each other is long enough to make us miss each other.

We start walking again talking and giggling and then we finally make it to the barn. We walk into the big red barn and get out tac and head to our horses. Suddenly I see my lovely white mare's face pop it's head out over the stall and gives me a neigh. As soon as I reach her I give her a huge hug. Whisper! I have missed u so much, u ready for a good ride today girl? She nods her head up and down and I take that as a yes. I decide to make her as shinny and clean as I possibly could. Then I put her tac on and headed her out of the stall.

As we go outside we see Skylar on her horse Wonder a beautiful black mare. The two make the perfect combo, Skylar is really into jumping and the two of them together are the best. I mount Whisper and we head out into the woods for our trail

As we walk we approach a field and notice a few logs on the ground we decide to jump them. I let Wonder go ahead of me and they jump the logs perfectly. Next it's my turn so I give whisper a nudge and she picks up a smooth canter and I head to the first log with confidence and I feel Whispers two front legs lift from the ground and perfectly tucked underneath her and we land perfectly on the other side. The next couple of jumps are perfect and soon we come back to a walk. "Good girl Whisper!" Even though Whisper and I were more into dressage, jumping was still something we did pretty well together. "Great job" says Skylar, I say "You and Wonder were fantastic!"

We decide to walk a little longer but we soon head back to the barn and cool out horses down. I brush Whisper out and give her a mint. "Great job today girl" and give her a hug and a kiss before meeting Skylar outside. Skylar says "Want to go eat some lunch?" I say "That sounds great!" Skylar and I head out with linked arms to get some lunch
