Chapter 1-  Dying, Yay Me

The group of girls burst into laughter, heads shaking, wide smiles on their faces. The girl with blonde hair in the sea of burnet suddenly stood and the rest stopped. It was clear which girl ran the show. “Aw. Did widdle Twent get hurt?” she cooed viciously.  A boy with wide glasses looked up at her from his spot on the cafeteria floor. He attempted to wipe off the sticky spaghetti sauce was only able to make an even bigger mess. Tears pricked at his eyes and the boy raced away. Nicole, the leader, smirked, “Good riddance, now girls, observe the wild Tabitha. The pack swung their gaze to the left,  towards a small geeky girl who was trying to hide behind her book, although having a difficult time due to her sloppy frizzy hair. Nicole batted her eyes, “It’s so sad, isn’t it girls? Not everyone can be as fortunate as me. I feel bad for her, she’s just so ugly!” Her friends began to laugh again but were cut short by the bell.   Nicole huffed but not before looking around the table. Scrunching her nose, she said, “You know Isabelle, you really shouldn’t eat that.” The girl’s eyes widened and she quickly threw away a half-eaten bag of chips. Natalie stood, satisfied, and strutted towards her next period classroom.

Natalie skipped down the steps in front of her school, her boyfriend, Kyle at her side. “See ya tomorrow, babe!” she smiled happily. Excitement ripped through her, tomorrow is her birthday, her sixteenth to be exact. Kyle wrapped his arm around her waist and pressed his lips against hers. Natalie pulled back and flicked his chest, “Now, now, behave mister.” Kyle pulled her closer before releasing his grasp. Natalie took a step back and turned around to get into his car. She flipped her hair, sighing as Kyle hit the gas.

Kyle skidded to a halt as the light turned from yellow to red. Natalie lurched forward before          settling back into her seat. Kyle glanced around, seeing an empty intersection, and groaned. “This is a total waste of time.”

Natalie smirked, “Well then, why wait?” They grinned at each other as Kyle began to drive across the intersection. Suddenly, a red Volvo came racing, perpendicular to the duo. Natalie saw the movement out of the corner of her eye, and gasped, then began to scream, horror filling every inch of her. The two masses slammed into each other, the Volvo slamming against Natalie. She immediately felt light –headed and dizzy before waves of agony washed over her. Natalie leaned forward, feeling nauseous, head-pounding. ‘Is this what death feels like?’ she thought. A breath escaped her and she finally felt tired, and peaceful. Her eyes opened, seeing maroon all over her hands, another wave of pain washed over, but this one was dulled. Natalie blinked slowly, turning to look at Kyle, who looked untouched.  She suddenly  noticed shards of glass and wreckage flying past her, and a chill ran through her broken body. Natalie turned right and saw the Volvo, inching into her body. The car door had already been smashed as well as the trunk of the Volvo, her eyes closed as the Volvo hit her skull, and everything went dark.
