Operation K.I.L.L.
Chapter 14
I had finished unpacking my belongings a good 10 - 15 minutes ago, and I was waiting for the clock to change its numbers. Finally it did, and I raced out of my room to go meet Chad.
Once my shoes were on I left and looked around the hallway hoping to see Chad. He never did tell me where we were going to meet...
Just then, he popped out from one of the doors. "Good timing. Do you want to go for a walk?" He asked.
"Sure? What's this about?" I asked confused.
"Not here." He just said simply. I knew that was as much of an answer that I was going to get out of him, so I just followed him.
We made our way to the lobby where there were groups of people chattering away in different languages. I mostly heard French, but there were other languages thrown in.
All of a sudden Chad took a sharp U turn and walked out a door on the back part of the hotel. I followed and what I saw was amazing.
It was a garden with what seemed like millions of flowers. The smell was overwhelming, but not in a bad way. It smelled fantastic. There was a small path that led off into different directions. Chad was taking one that led into the middle of the garden. Which was more secluded. There were trees that formed a circle, right in the middle of the garden.
But in the middle of the trees there was a small clearing. Pushed off to the side of the clearing sat a small bench, just big enough for two people.
Chad walked over to the bench and sat. I was still taking in the sights. I was so amazing I couldn't move. The garden looked like something out of a fairy tail; all it needed were some unicorns and other mystical creatures.
But of course they weren't real.
Instead there was an assassin in hiding and an assassin in training in it.
Chad patted the spot next to him, getting my attention. So I walked over, and sat down.
"You like it?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yea, it's beautiful." I averted my gaze from the garden to him, and gave him a smile.
"Like you," I thought I heard him murmur. "But that's what we're here to talk about. You know how I feel about you. But..." he ran a hand through his hair. I had realized by now that it was a nervous habit of his. "But we're on a mission and you're my student." He looked at me, probably wondering if I was going to say anything. But I wasn't really sure what to say right now.
Instead he continued, "In this business you can't afford mistakes. One mistake can end you up in jail or killed. We need to stay away from each other." He seemed to think about his words, "Well, at least until the assignment is over. You understand right?"
"Of course," I nodded, "Your right. I don't know how I didn't think of that before." I shook my head, more talking to myself now.
"Don't worry about it. We should just try to keep our distance from now on." He looked a little saddened by the thought.
"Yeah," I looked around and noticed that it was starting to get a little darker, "We should head in, the others will be wondering where we went." I said as I stood up.
He followed and we both headed back to the main lobby.
When we reached it, I was right; the rest of our group was sitting around talking. Lily spotted me and ran over. "What happened?"
I gave her an "are you stupid look" and let my eyes flicker over to Chad, who was still standing next to us. Sometimes I wanted to give that girl a little slap.
