After Mark finally walked away, Karissa turned to me, "How do you know that guy; he's georgous!"

I looked at her excited face and I wished I didn't have to explain why she had to stay away from him.

"Karissa, you seriously need to avoid him. He isn't a good guy and you deffinatly don't want to get caught up with someone like him."

"Why? He was really nice to us and you pretty much ignored him, like, what was that?" she retaliated.

I wanted to look at her and tell her every awful thing he did to so many girls..what he almost did to me. To tell her all the despicable things he somehow got away with but I didn't want to make her think I was lieing by telling her everything at once..because when I think about it.....all his actions were a bit outlandish.

"As a friend I am asking you to stay away. Please I don't want anything to happen to you especially when I know it's something I can prevent. Just ple-"

"Ok! I'll stay away from him just shut up." she interupted me playfully.

I was relieved that she had agreed due to my intense pleading. As we started to walk again I could hear someone calling my name from across the small feild that Karissa and I were going through to get to our first class. I looked around trying to find whoever needed me. I saw someone running toward us and for a moment I was frightened because I thought it might be another bitchy girl coming to tell me how worthless I was like almost every other day. But when the girl was about two thirds of the way to Karissa and me I recognized the black pants, fading red hair and glasses with no lenses and I relaxed. It was just Charolette. She continued running untill she was a few feet in front of us then stopped. She walked over to hug me and as she pulled away she noticed Karissa and she pulled back into the hug.

"Who is she? Is she being mean to you? Am I going to have to get my knife..it's in my boot, I could totally get it." she whispered into my ear. I laughed and pulled her beside me.

"Charolette," I said while still laughing at her protective comment, "this is Karissa. Today is her first day but she moved into a house down the road a few days ago."

Charolette looked at her, she noticably moved her head making it obvious that she was looking her up and down. I assumed that she was trying to decide if Karissa was alright..I knew she was just putting on an act for Karissa, making her nervous. I knew because Charolette wasn't the judge mental type and if I made a new friend Charolette would accept them without a second thought. Finally Char looked me, then at Karissa, "Im going to call you Kari, ok."

"Ok, I always wanted a nick name," Karissa says excitedly.
