I woke up early that day, and the sun shone through the window. I closed my eyes and decided to sleep more. Then I suddenly remembered what day it was. My heart started beating fast and my body started shaking. It was today. The day I was finally going to ask her out.
So you maybe want to know the story first. So my name is Alice. I am 16 years old and the captain of our cheer squad. We are the National champions, and I am going to take our squad to Nationals again.
My best friends are Amanda and Kristine. They are both in the cheer squad with me. They are really strong, and they do pretty much all the lifting. I am so proud of them. Amanda is the sassy kind of girl. She never takes no for an answer. If I was her, I think that I would have been kicked out of the school already. But she hasn't, yet. Kristine is the opposite type. She is down to earth, and she is a Christian. She goes to church every Sunday, and she accept the people's flaws, and she doesn't get mad. She is the one I love. Every day I get a ride to school, I see her long blond hair floating in the wind. She is so gorgeous.
So as I was getting ready, I listened to the radio. It was beautiful music. I divided my long, brown hair into two sections, and curled my it. Then I put the hanging hair from the front, at the back of my head and put a cute bow to secure it. I took out my clean cheer uniform and put it on. As I was walking down the stairs to make my breakfast, I grabbed my bag that laid on the end of the guardrail, and I put it by the door. As I stood there, I heard scratching on the wall, it was Dough, our dog. He wanted food, as always. I let him in, and filled his bowl with food. I went to the fridge to find my smoothie mixture, and blended it. Someone ringed on the door. I opened it. It was Kristine.
* Hi Alice, she said.
* Hey, I said back.
She always come to me for breakfast. I gave her the smoothie and we sat down
* I have to talk to you, I said. More nervously than ever.
* Sure, what is it? Kristine saw a little worried. Almost upset.
* I am just going to say this out loud. Kristine looked at me with sadness in her face.
* Okay, just tell me! I want to know. Is it anything about cheerleading? Or about Amanda? Or me? I had never seen Kristine so worried before.
* Do you want to go on a date with me? I asked. Her face froze. I didn't know what to do. She looked upset. I started to regret it. Then her face came alive again.
* Sure! I would love to. Kristine smiled. And I smiled.
* Great, I'll pick you up tonight at 6 pm. I said.
* Deal.
This school day felt like one of the longest of my life. I was so excited for tonight. I couldn't keep it inside me. In the breaks I saw Kristine. I smiled at her. She smiled back. Amanda was in my class, but she just acted like she was mad at me today, so she didn't want to talk to me.
After school, I drove home and changed to a blue dress that is so cute, took out the bow, and put in a smaller one that matched my dress. I put on my blue high heels. The clock was 5.50 pm when I walked to the car. I started the engine, and began to drive. I got to Kristine's house, and I put on some lip gloss and walked out of the car. As I walked up to the house, my pulse began to get really high. I rang the bell and waited for answer. Mr. Lockland, Kristine's dad answered.
* Hey Alice, Kristine is ready in a minute. Have fun at that party. Kristine told her parents that we were going to a party? Okay?
* Okay, I'll wait. Mr. Lockland yelled to Kristine that she had to hurry up.
* I looked up the stairs, and I saw Kristine coming down. She had the exact same outfit as me, only in red. We bought it earlier this summer, and clearly both decided to wear it.
* Hey Alice, Kristine said.
* Hey. You ready to leave?
* Sure.
As we walked to my car, I took her hand. It was warm. Her skin was soft and I was almost surprised. As we drove, I felt an awkward silence. No one said anything before we came to the restaurant. We got our table and we ate.
* You look really great Kristine, I said.
* Thanks, you to.
We talked for a while until we got our food.
* I have to tell you something, Kristine said.
* What then?
* I didn't think you meant this date for real. Actually, I am more attracted to guys. So, I will just go away now... Kristine began to walk away.
* Wait. Kristine was still walking. She walked out of the restaurant. I ran after her. It was raining outside.
* Kristine wait. I grabbed her hand. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
* What?
* I love you, okay?
* She ran away, and I never saw her or Amanda again.
