"C'mon you slow asses!" I shouted at my friends/sisters Shelby and Briona as they trudged up the hill, groaning from all the "exercise".

"Why do hills even exist?" Bre asked as she let her faded rainbow backpack that was hanging from one strap on her shoulder down onto the sidewalk with a thud. Dust blew up from the ground and landed onto her neon green Nike shoes, barely visible, but she still wiped it off, cursing under her breath. While she was fixing her shoes she decided on fixing her outfit as well, adjusting her black knee high socks that had slipped down a small fraction as she was walking up the hill. She pulled down her denim shorts that had risen up and fixed her loose-ish purple unicorn t-shirt with an axe.

I looked over to Shelby who was fixing her red flannel that she likes to refer to as Mark's Lucky Flannel. (Mark as in Markiplier!) She then pulled up her dark blue pair of skinny jeans and wiggled into them, while her checkered black and white converse got a bit dusty from Bre's backpack incident.

I absentmindedly started fixing my outfit as well. I started to wipe off my black Nike shoes, and pulled up my light blue wash jeans and adjusted my loose black t-shirt that had the words "Tinker Bell was always there for Peter, but Peter? He chose Wendy." on it in bold white letters. I pushed my hair that I straightened off to one side. Shelby set down her eeveelution bag softly unlike Bre did, and looked around as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and checked her phone. Bre was shaking her head slightly as she looked at the sky that was slowly gathering up clouds. It was Thursday. Which meant having Art Club after school. Which is what we thought we had before 11th Grade cancelled it, as the Art Room was a mess after the Summer themed party we did on the last day of school for Summer Break. Our teacher said that it would take up the whole Art Club time to clean up the whole room. 9th, 10th and 12th grade had it, which meant that our teacher knew that we would make it a bigger mess as 11th Grade Art Club was only me, Bre, and Shelby. And we make huge messes in there. So we decided on spending time together tonight since tomorrow was Halloween and we had the school day off. Surprisingly, it was actually pretty warm for once, a small bit chilly.

"So Mak," Bre started. "Where even is this abandoned school at anyway? Did you even ask the people where it was?" she asked.

"They said it was somewhere around here." I said while looking around. Everyday after school we all head over to the mall and buy random things that we obviously didn't need, but liked. We started doing it only cause we got bored, but then it just became a routine. Even if we didn't have money we still walked and looked around at stuff. This is only mainly cause we wanted to spice up things a bit by going to an abandoned elementary school. I asked a couple guys who were talking about it during lunch and they gave me directions that I don't really remember. Shelby then jumped up and down while squealing saying that she found it.

"Guys! We just gotta go that way!" She said as she pointed over to the forest that was so dense,  you had to stand on your tip toes and looked over the tops of the trees so you could see the unfinished top of the school building that they were building for the new kids coming in. It was never finished and nobody knows why.

"Alright," I said while turning back to them and putting my hands on my hips. "Looks like that's where we go, any last words before we die?" I said jokingly while putting my hands up in the air and making a spider like motion with them, wiggling my fingers around. They laughed and played along.

"Why I would just want to say that I hope we don't die and that we make it out safely in order to rub it in those guys' faces since they thought that we weren't up to the challenge!" Bre said as she fist pumped into the air with a big smile on her face. Shelby smiled at us both.

"Well I for one don't like to even get hurt so who would want to die anyway? I just want to say that you guys are amazing and that you also are assholes." She said as she started laughing. Bre smiled as I rolled my eyes playfully.

"I want to say that we're all stupid as fuck but let's go anyway!" I yelled as I stuck my hand out into the middle of the group. Bre and Shelby immediately joined after, pilling our hands on top of the other. In union we all chanted at once-

"We're screwed!"

After we had our little moment we all started the journey towards the building. Walking down the hill took some time as Shelby and me didn't want to get our shoes dusty at all. Bre, however, didn't give a damn and ran down the side of it, nearly falling as she stepped on a couple pebbles. As we walked into the woods, the trees seemed to grow larger and taller, turning the rocky terrain into a dirt and grassy one. Green seemed to be everywhere and the leaves that cover the tops of the trees, seemed to shut sunlight out, not that there was any today anyway. It looked like it was going to ran from the clouds gathering so quickly. The dark brown bark on the trees looked like it could be used for an antique shop at some point in time, or be cut down just to make even more room for civilization and leave helpless animals to fend for their own without shelter. I scowled and shook my head, disgusted at the human race. Shelby kicked some of the dirt in her path as a deer jumped by. After a couple minutes of walking which seemed like hours, we finally came across the school.

There was everything that you needed to make an abandoned school. It had old yellow rotting school buses, growing mold on one side and all over. The windows were smashed in and some seats had been thrown out of buses and tires have been slashed. The buses  numbers had been scratched or peeled off. Old playground equipment left to rot lay all around the schoolyard. A swing set that had four swings sat motionless, the chains rusted down, and the once colorful blue seat was now a mixture of blue, green, and black, and it wasn't pretty. Whenever the wind blew, the swings wouldn't even move. An old slide that once shined in the sun now never shined at all. Unless you put some sort of light on it. Finally, a big climbing set, I walked over to it while Bre and Shelby explored around. I ran my hand over the faded red metal and looked around it. Some metal pieces weren't on the climbing set, they were on the ground instead. I picked up a piece and inspected it, I turned it over, looked at it in my hands. 'Strange,'  I thought,  'it's as if someone sawed through these pieces and laid them here on the ground.' I made a face and stood back up, letting the metal piece from my hand fall into the dirt below.

Walking over to Shelby and Bre, who were staring up at the building, I looked at it as well and figured out why they were staring. The outside of the building was made of brick, yet some of the bricks were missing in various places. Some bricks had faded their color yet some kept their red color. Vines and moss had started to grow onto the sides of it, and it appeared to have a dark glow around the edge. Some of the windows were broken, but still had the glass in it's frame, other's had cardboard over them, forbidding anyone to see through them. The doors had been taken out, leaving the entrance open for anyone. Graffiti covered the bottom parts of the wall, and left the top and middle parts alone and graffiti free. Looking inside of the building, it was black. Like, black black. Bre took out her flashlight and shone it into the darkness, a rat scurried across the light and back into a cracked hole in the wall. The name of the school had been token down, the police feared that the public would find out if this abandoned school belonged to the state so they could sue the government for never finishing construction. I rummaged through my backpack and pulled out a knife belt and wrapped it around my waist. I then took out my two knives and stuck them in the pockets. Holding my trusty bat that I took along onto this trip, I swung it over my shoulders and rested my wrists against it. Shelby took out her katana  sword and stuck it into her belt around her waist. Bre took out her axe from her backpack and clung it to her bet as well. I took a step forward and turned halfway to look at my friends.

"You coming?" I asked as I turned on my flashlight and walked inside.

"Sike, I ain't no bitch," Shelby said as she took out hers and went inside as well.

"Wait for me asshats!" Bre yelled as she jogged in after.
