The ice began slowly sloshing off the windows of the bus, and I drew a smiley face on the window. A small chill ran down my spine as I realized my gloves were slit open at the fingers. With the deep sea green wrapped present sliding down my thighs, I fumbled to hold it, and hugged it to my chest.

I have been planning my Bunny's first birthday with me since the first tournament. Just thinking about how proud he was when I came off the ice makes me get butterflies again. My stop is coming up, so I stand up and hold my footing, slipping a little at first, with one arm wrapped around the present, the other groping for the pole about a foot from where I was sitting. We turned a corner, and I got anxious. I pulled my third jacket off, and the bus stopped abruptly, jerking me forward.

I took the paper flower that had taken me so long to make out of my pocket, and started walking as the bus doors opened. I started sprinting as I saw Viktor waving from the front door of the skating rink. As I came closer, he took a few steps forward, smiling brightly, and we both stopped for an instant to put down something, I,  the box, him, a fancy suitcase. When I was close enough, I jumped and threw my arms around Viktor.

We stayed like this for a while and I felt the cold radiating from his body. He keeps leaving his jackets at our house, since he's used to such cold weather, being from Russia, but he can't coach me if he's frozen.  So, as I had anticipated, I pulled back and threw my jacket around him, putting my fore head against his.

"Happy Birthday, Bunny."

I handed him the box, and he nudged it around.

"You dork, you didn't have to. This is why I flew over here a month ago. I know you like me."

He poked at my stomach a few times, so I booped his nose and he retaliated by tickling my stomach. I squeeled like a little toddler, and gave him a noogie, which made him stick his tongue out and smile. I picked up the box and put it on his lap again, and he said "Let's go inside first."

We sat down after saying hello to everyone, and he beamed at me. I kissed the paper flower and put it behind his ear, grabbing his hand for a few seconds, glowing, then I elbowed him, urging him to open it. "Are you sure, Yuuri?" I shiver every time he says my name, loving the the way it rolls off his tongue. I nodded my head like a maniac and nudged it again.

He shrugged as he tore a piece of tape off the corner, then another, and another, and another. He rolled the paper off, pulled the tape off the box, and pulled out the contents of the box, revealing the dark blue skates I bought the day before. Viktor looked so happy, I almost cried, and he started laughing.

"I want to skate with you more, so I figured you'd need these."

I smiled and rubbed his shoulder.

"Oh, you're so sweet, thank you so much."

He leaned in and gave me a huge hug, and I slipped my arms around his waist.

"I want to skate with you, too." He nuzzled his head on my shoulder lovingly, and began to whisper something in my ear.

"Anata wa watashinokiniiridesu, Katsudon," ("You're my favorite") and he pulled me back so he could look at me, smiling still, just to bring me back in. He hesitated for a moment, then gently kissed my neck, sending a shock through my body, which made me hold on tighter, and I scootch up, sittingon his lap.

"I know..."I laughed softly on his collar."You're my favorite, too. I wish we could could stay like this forever..."
