I ran and ran, but as I looked back the blood still seemed to be chasing me. It was on the bottom of my shoes, and they were leaving crimson footprints behind me.
My breath was speeding up rapidly. I needed my inhaler but I had left it in Sam's car, so I continued to huff and puff.
The body was still staring at me from the blood-spotted floor. Eek!
Finally I reached the huge metal doors at the end of the corridor, and I looked back briskly. The body was still lying there, lifeless. I gasped, then shoved the door with all my might. The door swung open forcefully and I charged out of the warehouse.
When I got home I breathed a sigh of relief and terror at the same time. I called the police and they said they'd investigate ASAP.
