(Lily's POV)

"Tomorrow is my first day of work, as a police officer. My academy teachers had recommended me for undercover work, so I expect an assignment," I say. My friend smiles, " But, just like every other 23 year old girl, you are a party girl. Come to my sorority party! It'll be fun!" She says, ecstatic. I knew that I needed to be responsible, so I declined the invite. She dropped me off, "Good luck, text me if you change your mind!" I turn around, "Thank you!" I walk up the stairs to my apartment, I was terrified for tomorrow. My stomach was an empty pit and my hands were shaking. I know I wouldn't be able to sleep, but I went to bed at a good time and set my alarm for 5:00. I was due to be at work by 6:30. Each morning I went for a 30 minute run, showered, and headed off to work.

I walk in to the precinct at 6:28 and within 30 seconds Captain Hancock waves me into his office.

      Captain says, "Hello, Officer Hanko."
      "Hi, Captain," I reply.

"I've looked-over the reports from your academy teachers and I've found an undercover mission for you," he adds.

Even though I knew, I was being assigned an undercover mission, butterflies still fluttered around my stomach. I was going undercover at Ridgemont Prep, a high school full of pampered rich kids. Out of the 300 kids who attend Ridgemont, 60 of their parents are suspected of various crimes. The crimes range from tax evasion to fraud to treason. Captain Hancock gave me a fake identity, a month's worth of "designer" clothing, and a list of students. The list contains the students names, the crime(s) that the parents possibly committed, and suggested ways to get close to them. It is Monday, and I started school on Wednesday. Now, I get to meet my partner. He started "school" last Thursday, but he'll be helping me complete the list—or maybe I'll be helping him.... It was 12:46 when his car pulled up to the precinct. He walks through the door with a smirk.  His bright green eyes scan the precinct and fall onto me. He walks toward me.

"Hey, Officer Hanko, right?" he asks.
"That's me, you must be Officer Jax," I say.
"So, I guess we're partners," he says.
"Yeah, so how's the list coming along               Officer Jax?" I ask.

"The list? Okay, a few of the kids on it have introduced themselves to me, but most of them are stuck-up, self-entitled brats. And please call me Jesse," he responds.

"I will, call me Lily, I don't really like the whole title thing either," I respond with a smile growing across my lips.

"I should go, I don't want anyone to think I skipped," he says.

"Okay. See you later," I add.

Okay, he was like hot, hot, hot.... but I can't let him or his muscles distract me. I have a mission to complete. Captain Hancock nods at me to get back to work. For the next day and a half, I read my cover story over and over again. I also read up on some of the descriptions Jesse gave me. And boy, my favorite was Winston K. Rawl. Winston was a short nerdy boy, so not bad right? But, here's the catch... He was sexually attracted to toilets. Or at least he said he was.... But, he was no class clown so I have absolutely no idea why he would say something like that if it wasn't true....

Before I knew it, it was Wednesday.  I dress in my "designer" clothes and leave my small apartment. The size of the school shocks me, for a rich kid school, it is actually fairly small. I park and walk up to the sidewalk. I see Jesse talking to a group of guys. He smirks at me and I roll me eyes. I walk to the front of the school and enter. Luckily, my schedule came with a school map, so I easily made it to my homeroom. School didn't start for another ten minutes, so only half the class was seated. Mrs. Vogue walks toward me and then, she points to a seat. I walked to the desk and sat down, with a flirtatious smile fixed on my face. If I ever wanted to take down these kid's parents, then I'd have to become popular. But, popularity didn't come easy. I wear a pair of 6" heels, a bubblegum pink crop top, and a white skater skirt. The rest of the class files in throughout the next 5 minutes. Everyone looks at me, the guys with wide eyes, and the girls with jealousy—or maybe criticism, I can't tell.
