"Sis come quick, she's doing it again." Your brother sticks his head around the end of the aisle and is looking at you standing about halfway down reading the back of a box of cereal.
"Doing what again?" You asked becoming concerned as to what could be going down inside this store that has your brother trying to warn you.
"She's trying to sell you to a family with boys again," he laughs.
This was not the first time your mom had taken it upon herself to find you a potential husband.
"Mom," you yell jokingly over to the next aisle, "you have to stop trying to get a family with sons to take me. When you start offering them stuff to take me, it makes it seem like there is something wrong with me. In the old days they would give you a bride price, they give you the money or goods for me. You need a better sales tactic because this isn't working and that not a way to make a good barter."
You turn to walk over to the next aisle where she has been shopping, when you see 5 men standing staring at you from the end of the aisle.
You give your brother the "them" nod and he shakes his head "yes".
"Well at least you picked a family that has good looking men this time," you laugh. And they start to walk your way.
"She said you were funny," said one of them as he approached you to introduce himself. "I'm Gabriel Brown," he stuck out his hand that was at the end of a very muscular arm, "you can call me Gabe. Do you like funny because, I'm funny too," he added in a Sean Connery accent.
You didn't have time to answer him because suddenly a hand came up from behind him and pushes him to the side and another brother takes his place. "Hi, I'm Matt and these guys are my little brothers."
"They don't look so little to me," you say shooting a glance back to Gabe who was built. You smile at him, he looks down with a shy smile.
"Well you know what I mean. This is Bam, Bear, you met Gabe, and then there's Noah."
"Nice to meet you guys. Sorry for my mom, she can be a little persistent when it comes to wanting me to find a guy. I think she has actually been trying to arrange marriages for me since before I was born. There were so many playdates with the sons of her friends growing up."
"Oh no worries our mom is the same way," Bam added. "She actually hired a match maker to help us find ladies."
"Is that who my mom is talking to, your mom?" You direct your questions to Gabe.
"Yeah and our Da. She just walks right up and starts conversations with people doesn't she," said Gabe still smiling at you.
"Yeah, she is a talker like that. I'm sure you guys knew my life story before walking over here."
You sigh knowing that your mom probably just walked up and stated an entire conversation that could lead to the life story of everyone she knew. She had done it so many time you had lost track long ago. Many times she has tried to set you up with the son of whoever she is talking to.
"So a matchmaker, like in Fiddler on the Roof. Wow, how did that work out."
"Well we are all still single. So great," Bam said sarcastically.
"A couple of us got matches, but nothing serious came out of them," added Bear.
"A match maker is a little old school. My mom just tries to sign me up for online dating sites." And she had a couple times, some of the worst matches came from farmersonly.com. You had decided that you would rather be lonely, than matched up with someone from farmers only. "Well, their loss is my gain, I guess. So which one of you guys was my mom trying to give me too."
