I used to be a average high schooler, but soon everything started to fade away when I got diagnosed with cancer. Everything changed. Everything that I ever cared about, gone...

It all started when my stomach hurt in the same spot all day. Everyday. My once tan complexion getting more and more pale after the days went on. The worst part was the obnoxious fever that wouldn't go away. My mom took me in for testing at the clinic. They said that they will call us and let us know when they get the results.

After we where done my mom took me out too eat I couldn't help, but see the sadness in her eyes. When we got home my stomach started to churn, I ended up vomiting up everything I ate. My mom held my hair as I was crouched over the toilet bowl, I continued to vomit until I was just gagging up acid. the retching smell of my puke and toilet water filled my lungs. I wiped my mouth and washed my face. My moms eyes where welling up with tears.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" She asked in a weak voice

I strained my best fake smile and took her hand. "I promise"

"you promise what?" she asked, a tear trickling down her cheek.

"that I'll never leave your side" I whispered

shortly after, I collapsed. Everything was blurry, the last thing I could remember was getting carried into the ambulance truck.

I woke up too a blinding white light. I winced as I tried to sit up, the pain was unbearable. When I was finally able to prop my back against the wall I noticed that I was in a hospital room, I started to look around, there was a decent sized television attached to the white walls along with a small wooden table with a pile of cards and a vase of flowers. I reached for one of the cards, but ended up getting caught on my IV cord and the tubes connected to me. A couple minutes later a nurse came in too check on me. Her expression was filled with pure shock.  I watched as her pen fell to the ground.

"y-your awake?" She stammered.

"Um yeah, what does it look like?" I mumbled in a sarcastic tone.

The nurse chuckled, "you have been out cold for almost a month"

It felt like my heart had stop, all my memories where flooding back.

"A month?" I repeated, tears rolling down my cheeks, "am I okay?"

Fear was taking over my body every part of me was shaking. The nurses smile disappeared.

" Luna, you have been diagnosed with childhood cancer"

I extended my hand towards her, my arm getting irritated against the scratchy wool blanket. She walked toward me, I cupped her face in my hand, the smell of her cherry blossom perfume was somewhat comforting.

"what did I do too deserve this?" I asked in a shaky voice.

The nurse made eye contact with me, she had the same sorrow eyes that my mom had when she took me home from the clinic. I gasped. I completely forgot about my mom!       I franticly asked the nurse where my mom was.

"I'm so sorry" the nurse said with a sad smile "but she died, in a car accident"

At first I wasn't able to fully comprehend what she meant, but then the pieces started coming together. I was in complete shock, I lifted my trembling hands up to my face, I felt Hot tears streaming down my cheeks.  I felt a sudden urge of anger and started to scream, I kicked my legs and knocked over the table, and the vase went flying, when the fragile glass hit the ground it shattered into a million pieces. The nurse called for assistance and a group of doctors where holding me down.

"I wasn't able to keep my promise" I managed to choke out trough my flood of tears

I felt a sharp pain as doctor Plunged a needle in my arm, she injected something into my bloodstream and everything went black.
