'B-bringing the shiny piece of metal to your skin
L- leaving scars that will last forever
A-although blood appears, the feeling gives you pleasure
D-- deepening the cut to let your feelings out'
E- everything seems fine, until you snap back to reality
I finished writing my thoughts in my diary when the door flung open.
My father.
I slid my diary under my bed and stayed on the floor scared. As he stepped closer, I slid back until I hit the wall. My breathing hitched as a bat came in sight. All it takes is one hit to the head and I'll be dead. But no!
I felt pain in my stomach. That'll leave a bruise. He stepped on my hands wearing his boots on purpose. I just closed my eyes and let the pain sink in. He must have stopped because I couldn't feel the bat against my skin. I opened my eyes one at a time.
5:49 pm the clock read.
"Shit" I mumble under my breath. My shift starts at 6:00pm. I quickly added foundation and concealer with my white ruffled shirt along with some jeans and white vans.
I dump the foundation on my wrist feeling the burning sensation. The cuts are fresh so yeah....
I walk quietly out if my room and down the stairs. My father was asleep. Hangover much? I walked down the street until I saw my destination, Starbucks. I checked my phone, 6:09 pm. Great! *note the sarcasm*
"There you are!" Louise greeted me. She was the owner of the Starbucks and also my moms best friend before she died. I like to call her my second mom. She knows what's going on at home. We can't tell the police because my father is apart of a drug gang. They wouldn't hesitate to shoot me. I flinched as she embraces me into a hug. She quickly pulled back. "Sorry"
I give her a small smile. "Dad again?" I nod. "I'm so sorry"
"It's not your fault" I give her a fake smile. But I can't fool her, she reads me like a book!
I grab my apron and head to the cash register. A boy about a year older than me walks through. His blond/lilac hair put up in a perfect quiff along with his tattoos and piercings. "Hey princess" he smirks.
I scoff and roll my eyes. "What would you like?" I ask politely.
"I'll take a coffee and some of that" He says eyeing my body.
"Sorry we don't have any if that, you should go to a different place." I snap.
"Fine I'll just take a coffee."
I went to go make the coffee and could feel him staring at me. I hate when people stared at me.
I slid the cup of coffee over to him. "That will be $3.68" He pays and leaves. Douche bag.
My shift was over and I was closing up shop with Louise when Lux comes running in. "Jade! Jade! Look what I made!" She hands me a painting. To be honest I had no idea what it was. But I smiled since she's just a little kid.
"That's beautiful! Just like you." I poke her nose.
She smiles so sweetly. "I want to be like you when I grow up" she whispers in my ear. I smile. A real smile. Nobody has ever said that to me before.
"You are perfect just the way you are" I whisper back and kiss the top of her head.
"Bye Louise!"
"Wait!" Louis comes running in. "Hear take this." She hands me a twenty dollar bill. "Thank you!" I hug her.
"I'll see you tomorrow!"
"Bye!" they chimed. I know what you're all thinking. 'It's rude to take money from your elders' But this is different. Louis makes sure to give me thirty dollars of her own money to me so I can move out and get my own flat.
I can't stay with her because her house is literally so tiny.
I hate Sundays. Because the next day is Monday and Monday means school.
