"Where are you now, Im Jae bum."

The incandescent lighting and music that played lightly in the company's cafe exhaled ataraxy into anyone that steps into this posh place, but did nothing to keep away the look of annoyance that was splashed over Minae's face. Tapping her fingers impatiently, she pressed her ear hard on the phone screen to make out the weird yet fairly familiar noises she hears over the phone. It was only five minutes before the next schedule and Jaebum wasn't here yet. Seriously though, Minae complained silently, why am I placed in a subunit with him?

As she was deep in her thoughts, a maniac laugh pierced her ears and almost caused her to drop her phone in shock.

Minae gasped, "그게뭐야?(What was that?)" She stared blankly ahead for awhile before realisation started to sink into her. Could it be...? Shaking her head, she prayed that she was wrong and listened carefully to what was over the phone again.

It can't be wrong. Now that she have recalled what the noise sounded like, it was clearly drunken slurs and clinking of glasses that she hears.

Minae looked around cautiously and walked away from the cafe, making sure no one could hear her and asked, "Are you drunk?"

She waited, but there was no response. Of course, he was definitely drunk. And he will miss this important schedule and their next music video will be cancelled. Then all this torture will be gone, even if it is temporarily. But then Minae wouldn't know whether to laugh gratefully or cry at all the hard work going down the drain. All she needs to think about is how to greet those scary people upstairs, alone.

She cleared her throat. "Good evening, sunbaenims. Jaebum oppa is drunk and cannot come for the schedule. " Would that be too direct? Minae thought, would it do her anything good to tell on Jaebum? He would kill her.

"Good evening, sunbaenims. Jaebum oppa has something on and cannot make it here in time" No, why should she help him? Minae pressed her hand to her forehead. She never knew greeting was so hard, since it has always been Jaebum doing it, otherwise her unnies when she is with her own group.

"Good evening, sunbaen-"

"What are you doing?"

A deep voice startled her and caused a hiccup to slip out of her mouth. "You startled me!" she immediately screamed at the man before her but then gave a pause. Minae blinked multiple times at the familiar face in confusion.

Im Jaebum.

"The sunbaenims are upstairs, why are you greeting them here."

"I wasn't, I was just-"

"Hurry up, don't make me late for the schedule" Jaebum walked past Minae and towards the lift, intentionally hitting her shoulder.

"What? It was you who was late and I was- wait, weren't you at some nightclub?"

Jaebum spun around and stared at her in shock. "How did you know." But then there was a glint in his eyes and he smirked, as if understanding it all.

"Ah, I knew it." He lean closer to Minae and stared into her eyes. Minae stared back at his intense gaze, wide-eyed, and another hiccup escaped from in between her lips.

"You were following me, weren't you?"

Minae stared at him blankly.

"Don't worry, I don't blame you." Jaebum winked. "I know it's not possible to resist such a handsome guy, 괜찮아 (it's okay) ."

Before Minae had a chance to reply, Jaebum turned around and walked into the lift, pressing the close button without even bothering to wait for her. Minae rushed forward and jabbed the open button on the wall aggressively, but the lift already went up. She sulked and poked at the button once more, but a lot weaker this time.

"You must have left your phone there," a mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes. " And I'm not telling you. "

This was only the second month with Im Jaebum.
