Third P.O.VMoonlight shone bright in the sky reflecting on the black SUV. Klaus Mikaelson the orginial hybrid, the big bad wolf, had more enermies than the eye could see. He used to be known as a fictional tale, lurking the shadows where people trembled at the sound of his name. An immortal being with no weaknesses until now. His baby girl, his only hope of redemption, the family's hope is no longer safe in the city his family built - New Orleans. The world has to believe the baby Mikaelson died, this way no one would look for her. The rest of the Mikaelson's had to stay behind to help fix New Orleans which was on the brink of war, so baby Mikaelson could return home. Until that day their princess had to be forever lost. She couldn't just be sent away with anyone, she had to be with someone who would lay down their life for her, and Klaus knew the perfect person for that. His baby sister. He couldn't think of anyone more to trust the life of his child with and Rebekah always wanted a child of her own, this was the perfect job for her. As Elijah and Haley went to their childs memorial including the people they lost that night, Klaus took his princess far away from New Orleans where he couldn't be followed.
Pulling up to the destination, Klaus waited in the cool crisp air, leaning agaist his car he admired his sleeping child peacefully in his arms, knowing this could be the last time he could see in a long while. He has never seen anything more delicate and innocent in his life and mentally promised to never ruin her, as his father ruined him.
In a few short moments an emotional Rebekah arrived and stepped out of her navy blue car and greeted her big brother and niece. "Hello sister" said a recognisable voice with a thick heavy British accent. Klaus spoke with a small smirk playing on his lips, Rebekah reached out and gently stroked her nieces sleeping face.
"She looks like her mother.. maybe there is a God after all" Rebekah spoke quietly with a small teasing voice not to wake up the sleeping beauty. Her eyes only showed love and admiration making Klaus smile a real genuine smile for the first time in a while. Moments like these where rare in the Mikaelson house hold but these where the moments they cherished the most.
"But she has a hint of the devil in her eyes thats all me," Klaus replyed making Rebekah smirk the famous Mikaelson smirk face. "You need a witch who you can trust to cast a cloaking spell," Klaus reminded Bekah for the 40th time making her just sigh and nod.
"I'll get one," she told him determinedly reassuring her brother.
"No one can ever find her or know she is alive," he said sternly and Rebekah nodded seriously in acknowledgement.
"I know what to do Nik," she reminded him, she knew he was scared but she wanted him to trust her which he did but he was just nervous about his princess. Rebekah looked down at her niece thinking she really is their families hope as Klaus did the same.
"Perhaps we'll get a white fence I think that will be lovely." Bekah said as she felt her eyes watering its just Rebekah to think of home designs for her beautiful niece to grow up in. After 1000 years everything she ever wanted was happening. Klaus slowly fixed his hold on his princess as his eyes began to water too, he only known her for hours and she already meant so much to him.
"This city would have seen you dead. But I will have it your home." Klaus began, his voice breaking as the realisation sets in. "And every person who wishes you harm will be struck down and just as sure as my blood runs through your veins you will return to me." He spoke as a tear ran down his face letting his emotions get the better of him. He brought his lips down and kissed her forehead lightly and handed her over in Rebekah's waiting arms. Holding her niece close to her chest she believe it would be for the first time truely alright. Klaus reached into his pocket and pulled out a small wooden knight, which made Rebekah gasp quietly at the too familiar toy and placed it on top of his child. Her mind flickered back to when she was 5 and Klaus carved the knight out of wood when he was a child and gave it to Rebekah when she was afraid of the storm. As he stayed with her though the night promising to always stay with her and he did.
"Despite our differences Rebekah there is no one I would trust more with my daughters life" Klaus said as he pulled a sobbing Rebekah into his chest which he felt he hasn't done in forever. He kissed her temple pulling away from her wiping her tears away. "Be happy sister." She nodded looking down at her niece back to her brother, her gaze meet his gaze,
"She'll be happy Nik I promise." Niklaus just smiled as he knew that she really would. "Whats her name?" Rebekah finally asked bouncing her up and down in her arms gently making sure she would stay asleep.
"Hope... Her name is Hope," Klaus said after a few moments of thinking as a tear rolled down his cheek. Once more he understood everything Elijah and Rebekah said.
She really was their family's hope.
