Friend Zone

Introduction

     "Mommy!" I cried, running over to my mother in tears.

     "Oh sweetheart what's the matter? Why are you crying" my mother asked, as she opened her arms and enveloped me in her warm embrace trying to soothe away my tears.

     "T-those mean boys... o-over there were b-bullying me... they kept p-pulling my hair and m-making fun of my Prince Charming... they said fairy tales weren't real and that I'll never find my Prince Charming..."

     "Oh honey, my sweet sweet little angel, don't listen to them. Remember what Mommy told you about your daddy? He was my Prince Charming and he was my dream come true," my mother said while winking at me and giving me that knowing look. It instantly brought a smile to my face as I remembered all her stories of how daddy became her only one.

     One day I'll have that too. One day I'm gonna find my one true love and he'll be perfect. 

     I gave her my biggest smile, wiping away all my shed tears and nodded my head. "Let's go home Mommy! I don't wanna play with the other kids anymore! I wanna hear more of your stories with daddy!"

     "Sure sweetie but what about your friends? Wouldn't you want to continue playing with them? You never know one of them might just be your Prince Charming" my mom said playfully teasing me and eliciting a laugh from me.

     "Don't worry mommy! One day when Prince Charming comes along he'll be so perfect he wouldn't mind if I don't play with the other kids today." Even as a child I knew what I wanted. Mommy and Daddy has always been my dream come true. What they had is what I will always strive for.

     Ever since I could remember my mother would always tell me stories of my father, she would always mention how he was 'the one'. Everything about them was perfect, from the moment they met, to their first date, to their wedding day, from the time my brother and I were conceived, even up until my father's last days.

     Their love was always the strongest and everlasting. Even until now my mother refuses to look for anyone else. She would always tell me that when you meet 'the one', love like that doesn't come around the second time.

     That's why when I do find my one and only I'll make sure he's really the perfect one for me because fate doesn't give second chances it's only that one forever.
