a/n trigger warning i guess??? great way to start a book amiright? (nope.)

"Class dismissed." Snape droned and Harry shot up from his seat. He headed towards the Great Hall for dinner and sat down next to Neville at the Gryffindor table. Ron glared at him as he sat down, moving as far away from Harry as possible. You see, Harry came out to Ron and Hermione just a few days ago and well, Ron, the homophobic bastard, didn't take it too well. Hermione claimed she was fine with it and supported him; but she was hesitant to speak to him, or even be near him. All because of the bloody ginger.

That set Harry off the charts. He slammed his hands onto the table, causing the hall to silence and everyone to look his way. He stood up and stalked out of the hall. As he turned the corner towards Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, he could've sworn he saw a flash of blonde behind him.

Draco's POV

A slam was heard from Ha- Potter's table as he strutted out of the Great Hall. After everyone turned their attention back to their food, Draco marched out of the hall to find him. It wasn't long before he caught sight of the raven-haired boy he's come to love.

He ran after him and landed himself in front of the girls' bathroom. Why on earth would he be in there? He tried the door but to no avail, it was charmed shut.

"Potter? Are you in there?" Draco yelled through the door. Draco pressed his ear up to the door and listened; small sobs were heard emitting from the other side.

"Alohomora..." Draco whispered, unlocking the door. He pushed it open to see Ha- Potter, blood dripping slowly down the cuts he had made in his arms. Potter whispered a spell, making more cuts form.

"Potter...?" Draco began, startling the boy, "What's wrong?"

"Oh please. Like you'd actually care. I now what you'll tell them, 'The golden boy slits his wrists for attention!' Go on, laugh. I know you want to." Harry sneered through tears, lowering his wand away from his arm. Harry's behavior deeply surprised Draco; never would he have thought to see this side of him. Draco took a hesitant step closer, which made Harry straighten his arm and point his wand at Draco.

"Don't come any closer!" Harry warned him, pointing his wand at Draco. But Harry knew he would never hurt Draco. No matter what happens between them, he loves Draco too much to do that. Harry softened a bit at Draco's innocent look, but kept his hard exterior.

"H-Harry, just let me help you. Please." Draco pleaded, watching the blood drip eerily off of Harry's arm and onto the floor. He doesn't want to help you. No, he's pitying you. He's disgusted by how weak and helpless you are. He'll never love you.

"I don't need your pity!" Harry yelled, stony-faced, not letting Draco's sorrowful mercury eyes get to him.

"I'm not pitying you! I promise!" Lies. He's lying to you, Harry. He's just here to get a glimpse of your sob story so he can have a good laugh later. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. Of course I am.

"You're lying! Want to hear my life story, do you? So you can share it with the whole school? Maybe I'll even make the Daily Prophet!" Go on. Tell him. "Well if you bloody insist, I'll tell you. Merlin knows why, but here goes. As you probably know I've lived with Muggles for practically all of my life. I've had to live in a cupboard under the stairs until a few years back. The Muggles, they're afraid of magic. Ever since they learned I could do it freely now, they allowed me my own room. I have to do all of the cooking and cleaning around the house. Make sure their clothes are washed, food is on the table right when they needed it. Without magic," At this, Draco gasped, "And by the time they finished eating, which took a long time, I could eat the scraps that were left. Most of the time there were none." Harry said, shrugging nonchalantly.
