The selective bunch of associates

The faint familiar smell of hot dogs and pollution filled my lungs to bring me back from when I was young and I used to visit New York, but this time i wasn't here to be a stereotypical tourist I was her to work at the place I always wanted to, the FBI in the white collar unit. I was ready to make my mark on this unit like I have on all the other three units I worked at. I was mainly excited to be reunited with an old, old friend. After grabbing my coffee I was outside the discreet building which made me anxious in ways I have never felt. I walked through the doors, a gush of wind hitting me as the automatic doors shut behind me, I was in. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with my new badge and a new gun which I quickly but in my holster around my waist. Time to face the music I thought.

After the quick journey up to the 9th floor I reached the white collar unit which was unsettling for me because I have waited so long for this day but now everything is happening all at once. The world renown agent peter Burke which I will be working with for the next couple months then eventually the next couple of years stood at the coffee machine through the doors, As soon as he noticed me he gave me a smile and rushed me through the doors to start my first day as an agent. I wanted to go unnoticed but of course that was never going to happen; he rushed me along till I was in a slightly higher tier of the room. "I would like to welcome a new and highly know member to the federal bureau of investigation and I would even go as far to say as the person who may have even solved more cases than me." He said looking at me and he could see from my body language I was extremely uncomfortable from all the attention. " so I would all like you to treat agent smith with as much respect as you would treat me" he then finished with some sort of hand signal to dismiss the group of people.
"Right then Immogen, oh is it okay if I call you Immogen ?"
"yes it's fine"
"okay good then I would like you to meet four individual who I view very highly in this department but just be advised one is actually a consultant who is supposed to be in jail but is helping us with some cases which are related to art thefts as he has some specialty with that."
At that moment I knew who that was Neal caffrey who nobody knew that he was an old friend of mine. "Oh look here they are" as he slightly nodded his head to the door where Neal and two other people walked in.
A slightly tall dark man walked in who was wearing a clean cut suit with his hair slightly slicked back; Next to him a women who was brown and had dark hair and had had trousers and a top that was similar to mine and had a FBI badge dangling around her neck like some sort of expensive piece jewellery. They introduced themselves one agent called agent Jones and woman was called agent Berrigan. Both seemed a great set of allies to help me on my first day. It was then I noticed  a guy trying to show himself through the two agents blocking the door, Neal. He looked so much better and way more chiselled than when I knew him. He eventually made his way through the door and gave a cheeky and also cocky smile which showed me the childish and annoying side to Neal. Silence broke and Peter spoke
"this is Neal the person I warned you about" I slightly nodded as Neal walked up to me and kissed the back of my hand which I pulled away from and just shook his hand. A moment of laughter came from the peter and the two other agents. The well spoken girl laughed at Neal and faced towards me and said "thank god your the first ever girl to reject Neal; I already like you" and the guy stood next to her nodded in approval. Then a guy barged in the door and looked at agent Burke and the rest of us "we have a case sir ". We all got into action and I was ready to get into my first case.

What will happen in the first case she has ever worked on in the white collar diversion?
