The school knew that his girlfriend had died. They announced it in the school. They normally did that when someone from the school dies. The students wondered if they actually cared or if they did this because they had to.

He felt like this day was dragging on really slowly. He sighed quietly to himself as he did his best to focus on his school work rather than his girlfriend. Hours felt like a day or more at times.

Finally, he was at his last class of the day, then he was able to go home. Even though home didn't feel like home. At least, not anymore.

He remembered when he visited her the day she was dying.

"I love you. I'll miss you so much. I wish I could've done more for you my love."

She smiled her beautiful smile. But it was a weak one, "It's alright handsome. You've done all that you can. I'm just glad you're here... before I go. That's what makes me the happiest." She tried to stop her tears from coming, but they came down anyways. "I'll miss you too. But remember, I'll be with you always. I'll be watching over you, and I promise to comfort you as much as I can."

He nodded blinking his tears back, trying to be strong for her one last time. A few tears fell, running down his cheeks.

She gently wiped his tears with her hand, "It's ok."

He nods then spoke, "I have something for you."

She smiled giggling softly and teased playfully, "What's that?"

He got out a box and opened it to show her a beautiful diamond ring. An engagement ring.

She gasped smiling . By this time, she didn't have any hair left on her head, "Oh my Anthony! It's beautiful!"

Anthony smiled as he gently put it on her ring finger. "I'm glad you like it."

She smiled as they hugged, "I like anything from you."

They kissed for a bit and talked sometime later, until she died.

It hurt thinking of that memory, but he couldn't help it. He missed her so much. He missed Jeanne Pierce. Nothing could stop having him miss her. The only thing that would help him now if he was able to see her again. Which he knew that wouldn't happen anytime soon.
