Yuri gripped the edge of the rink and panted. He had been practicing for hours, the light outside fading into a dark blue glow. His mind was everywhere but where it needed to be. He was frustrated. Earlier that day he saw a significant increase in his weight. And he wasn't surprised in the least. At least not after what he saw the other night.
A week ago Yuri had witnessed Victor going out with Chris and Georgi. He wasn't particularly worried until he saw how extra familiar Victor was being with Chris. And Chris was being his usual erotic self which worried Yuri even more. He didn't see what happened when they went up to Chris's hotel room and Yuri didn't ask on their way back to Japan. All in all, he'd rather not know.
Or at least that's why he thought. Now, it grated on his mind; everything twisted and shifted towards that one thought. What had those two been doing that night?
Yuri gasped for air and raised his head. He nearly jumped in surprise to see Victor standing in front of him. "Uwah! V-Victor!"
Victor stood with his arms crossed and one eyebrow quirked. "Yuri," he purred. Yuri gulped. "What are you doing here at this time? It's passed the time for dinner and Minako-san has been wondering why you haven't come back yet." Yuri sighed. Victor smiled gently and reached out a hand. "Come on, let's go home."
Yuri began to take Victor's hand when the thought of him hanging all over Chris flashed in his mind. He dropped his hand and looked away. "Sure, I'll be there in a minute."
He skated away before he could see Victor's face. He knew he probably hurt him but he was scared to get close to him now. He knew he'd cry if he did.
He went into the locker room and changed. Before he left he glanced at the scale. Yuri had taken the scale he had at home and put it there so he could monitor his weight without Victor's prying eyes. He knew that if Victor knew his weight, they'd be spending more time together training and Yuri absolutely did not want that. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. "I need to lose weight."
Victor was waiting for him outside. A rush of guilt went through Yuri but his deep sigh flushed it out. "Let's go, Victor."
Victor perked up at his name. He talked most of the way home, Yuri only giving one worded answers, and lost his patients about a block from home. "Yuri," he demanded sharply. "What on earth is bugging you? You've been in a bad mood all day."
Yuri shrugged. "Nothing you need to worry about."
He could see the hurt on Victor's face. He stared at the tears welling up and sighed. "Sorry. I'm just tired." They now stood in the entryway. Yuri steered towards the stairs. "I'm going to bed, Victor."
"What about dinner?"
Yuri was halfway up the stairs and yelled down, "I don't need it!" He ran up the remaining stairs and into his room. He dropped his stuff and flopped onto his bed. He groaned into the sheets. "What am I doing?"
About an hour later Victor knocked on the door. "Yuri, let's go take a bath together." Yuri mumbled a no thanks into his covers. "Yuri," Victor whined.
Yuri sat up and glared at the door. "I'm tired, Victor. Go take a bath by yourself!" He flopped back down in his sheets and willed himself to sleep. He listened out for Victor's footsteps but as the minutes dragged on he heard nothing. He began to sit back up at the same time the door flew open. Yuri yelped. "V-Victor!"
Victor stood with an angry look on his face. He dropped his bath stuff and stomped into Yuri's room. He grabbed the younger skater by the shirt and brought him leveled to his face. Yuri's heart leaped in his chest. He could feel the tears prickling in the back of his eyes.
"Yuri," Victor said lowly. "You've been agitated for a while now. You even skipped dinner. As your coach I demand you tell me what's going on."
Yuri gulped. "It.. it's nothing. I just started a new diet, that's all. I'm cranky because..."
The look in Victor's eyes stopped him from speaking. The tears Yuri desperately tried to push down found their way to the surface and spilled over. Victor blanched, not expecting this reaction.
"Y-Yuri? What's wrong?"
Yuri's sobs grew louder. "I-I-I'm scared, Victor! I don't want to lose you!"
Yuri put his head in his hands and sobbed. Victor wrapped his arms around him. "What would make you think you'd lose me, Yuri? I'm your coach. I'm here for you, always." Yuri shook his head. "Yuri, I'm serious. I love you, Yuri."
"Then why," Yuri sobbed, "do you give me nothing but worries? Why did you go to Chris's room? What did you do in there? Why didn't you come back until morning?" Yuri pushed Victor off and glared at him through the tears. "How can you say you love me but only-"
His words got lost in Victor's mouth as he leaned down and smashed their lips together. Yuri struggled for a moment but gave in as Victor's tongue wiggled into his mouth. He cried as they kissed.
"Yuri," Victor sighed as he pulled away. "We were drunk and I had fallen asleep. That's it." He kissed Yuri sweetly. "I didn't do anything with Chris. I don't want to do anything with anyone but you. I love you, Yuri."
Yuri smiled up at Victor through his tears. "I love you too, Victor."
