CHAPTER TWO – Starbucks Date
skylar
I pulled up just outside of Starbucks. It was freaking freezing and I didn't bring a jacket with me so a cup of tea would warm me up.
I walked up to the door and opened it. Instantly, heat surrounded my body and I eased as I walked up to the counter. "Hey, Maria," I greeted my friend. We've been best friends for ages now.
"Hi, Sky!" She chirped happily. She's quite an...enthusiastic girl. "Just green tea today," I told her. "Cream on top?" She questioned, tapping the register. "That would be great," I nodded, pulling out my wallet.
I handed her the money and she calls out to her co-workers. She leaned against the counter, as do I. "Where were you last night? I tried calling but you didn't pick up. Were you with Adam and-"
"If you're going to say fucking then I'll slap you so hard," I snapped. "Mocosa estúpida .He cheated on me, I hope I never have to speak to him. Stupid pendejo. "
A look of panic spreads across her face. "Wait? What!? Oh my fucking god," she began undoing her apron and grabbed her purse. "I'm going to sort that little fucker out, fucking fuck douche," she muttered.
"Voice down, Maria. And watch that profanity," her boss warned.
"Maria, it's fine," I laughed, stopping her. "Let's not talk about it."
Maria did her apron back up and dropped her purse. "So where were you then?" She questioned. "At the One Direction concert with Miranda," I spoke casually.
This caused Maria's face to drop. "You went to a One Direction concert without me? What!? I am the ultimate super fan, how could you do this to me!?" She complained.
I shrugged, "two tickets, Miranda gave me one."
"This is so unfair," she huffed. "Maria, there's more," I bit my lip. "Oh, what now? You went to Australia without me? You met Josh Hutcherson without me?" She rambled.
"I met all of One Direction," I spoke, hoping she wouldn't get too mad. She just looked at me. "And I got a hug. From Harry. And I was backstage. And he gave me his number," I continue.
Maria swallowed and then began to laugh. "Okay, Skylar. Funny joke, I actually believed you for a second," she cackled. "Nevermind, then," I mumbled.
Finally, my warm drink arrived. I spun around and brought my cup over to an empty table. I pulled out my phone and go through my contacts.
My breathing hitched when I saw Harry's name.
Did he want me to text him for real? Or was he just saying that. It's better if I shouldn't. He's one of the worlds biggest celebrities - he doesn't want some chick he met at a meet & greet annoying him.
I checked Facebook, then Twitter, then Instagram and finally got bored. I sipped my drink, the taste of the tea lightening my mood.
"You didn't text me..." A voice startled me. I looked up from my phone and Harry is right there, sitting with a coat and sunglasses on.
"Harry?" I gaped. "What are you..."
"Coffee is great. I like coffee," he simply stated smiling. "So is there a reason you haven't texted me this week?"
"I've been busy," I lied, my gaze darting to the beanie he was wearing. "Sorry."
Harry chuckled. "Don't worry."
A high pitch scream is heard. My head turns and Maria looks like she's about to pass out. "Oh my fuck!" She screamed. Soon, other screams were heard. The people working there start jumping up and down.
Maria grabbed her notepad and walked over to our table. "H-hi, Harry. S-Skylar," she stuttered, smiling like an idiot. "I love your band so much! Like I stalk you- I mean, not stalk stalk you, but I like follow you. Oh my god, not literally, but l-like, ugh. Y-you know! I-I really l-love you, you have n-no idea. What would you like? A coffee? A muffin? We make r-really good muffins!"
"I'll just write my order down," Harry smiled up at her, taking the pad and pen. I watched as his tongue slips out as he writes, concentrating hard. He passed it back to her.
"O-one coffee with whipped c-cream to go!" She squealed. "Oh my god...is this your autograph!?" She actually has lost her breath, she's breathing so heavily. "Oh my lord. I can't, oh my god. I need air. Where is air!? I can't, what is happening!?"
She excused herself, before sprinting past a few tables, knocking a chair over and falling to the ground. She picked herself back up and keeps running to the bathroom.
"Okay," Harry laughed. "She's quite the character. Anyway, let's say we hit a movie, yeah?"
My breath was caught in my lungs that couldn't function properly. Why does Harry Styles keep hitting on me? "Oh," I responded, not making eye contact. "Uh, I don't know...you see my finals are coming up and they're really stressing..."
He nodded, leaning forward on his arms, "I see. Well, text me when your free because I'd like to take you out?"
"Why?"
"You've been hurt," he frowned. "I want to make you happy. I hate seeing our fans sad."
Oh, I saw it then. He wanted to make a fan happy. If I wasn't a fan, he wouldn't have cared. Makes sense, right?
Then, there were two girls outside of the the shop screaming and banging against the glass. I was absolutely mortified, shuffling away when I saw them. It was like an apocalypse had broken out.
Harry simply waved at them as Maria came back with shaky hands and a coffee in her hand. "Here you go," she breathed out, she seemed completely terrified to give it to him. He thanked her and stood up, "I should be off now. It was nice seeing you, Skylar. Remember to text me," he smiled and walked out of the shop, sunglasses on and all.
As I continued sipping my drink, Maria slid into the seat where Harry was sitting and whispered, "it's still warm."
I just about choked on my drink, coughing and looking at her, "what the hell? That's so weird to say, oh my god!"
She shrugged and then took my hands, "tell me everything that happened yesterday."
So I did.
