“Bro, how would you know that you’re already inlove?”

Judge who is busy cleaning his electric guitar looked at me as if he sees me for the first time.  Then he strums few chords on his guitar and jot down something on his song book.  He loves music.  He composed several songs already, majority of them dedicated to Mimi…his childhood sweetheart.

“Lex…love is like a song.” Judge averred as he rose from his favorite bean bag. 

“The rhythm flows with the lyrics in harmony.  Rhythm and the lyrics symbolize two hearts…when they beat as one…when they come in unison and creates a lovely melody…that’s love. 

I love talking to Judge, he talks with sense. His intelligence is not only limited to his computer and music but anything under the sun.  My two brothers are really two contradicting poles but I love them both.

“Who’s the lucky one lex?”

“I’m not yet sure bro…but I feel different with this girl.  Her name is Mara.  We meet in the shop few days ago.”

“Is she your date tonight?”

“Yes! She agreed to meet the whole family but we’re still on the “knowing each other stage”

“I’m getting curious with this girl.  I know you’ve been dating a lot lately but you never mentioned anyone or introduced anybody to me or to Cesar.  But this one…she will be introduced to the whole family.”

“I don’t know what’s going on inside my head lately bro…when I’m with Mara, I’m doing things which I don’t usually do.  And I feel something that I haven’t felt before.  Not with any of the girls I’ve dated.”

Judge sat beside me on his king-size bed and held my right hand.   His fingers traced the four names that were inked on my right wrist.  The names of the four people I loved and valued most…Dad, Mom, Cesar and his name.  I let JZ do that for me on the very same day I told my family that I am gay and they accepted me with open arms.

“You know sis the word love is very complicated.  But whatever it is your feeling towards this girl…whatever will be the outcome of everything later…one thing I can assure you, we… your family will always be here for you.  You’re grown up now, you know to decide.  Just be wise…enjoy life to the fullest but leave some reservations for yourself.  So that whatever comes along later on…you’re still intact.”  

I hugged Judge and in return he kissed me on the nose and ruffled my hair.  

“Thank you bro! I really appreciate your concern.”

“We’re buddies...”

“And partners in crime,” I added laughing.  

“So see you in court later?”

“Yeah see you… I will be going to the shop first.”

I thank him, returned to my room and took my bag.  I need to meet Mara and be done with her dragon tattoo.

As I park my car beside the shop, I saw Mara’s car parked few meters away.  She is early. I hurriedly grab my bag and locked the car and run towards the open door of the Body Art.  I saw her sitting on sofa and reading a magazine.  When she heard the sound of the wind-chime hanging on the door she looks up.  She smiled and immediately stand and approached me.

 “Hi sweetie! You’re early,” I greeted as I kissed her on the lips. Wow! What a beautiful start of my day.

“Nothing to do at home so I decided to come early,“ she answered after the breathtaking kiss.
